Surprised and let down

I am suprised to see that no one posted anything about the event in Wading River. Guy tries to kil a cop and no one post anything about it. That's pretty sad.
He's a bad man. What would you like us to say? It's in the paper. Read it.
Im suprised you guys arent demanding a higher paycheck or bitching about why a "sheriffs investigator" was doing police work.

Thank you for bng a pantload. Dealing with ungrateful schmucks like you is why we get paid what we do and you prove we're worth every penny every time you open your manvagina. So keep talkin, slappy. I feel my wallet getting bigger with your every hopeless keystroke.
You love me because I am MAD MAX 2845.
Im suprised you guys arent demanding a higher paycheck or bitching about why a "sheriffs investigator" was doing police work. We cannot demand a higher paycheck, we are in the 2nd year of a 5 year contract, but dont worry after its over the county will gladly give us more of your money.
Isnt a sheriff's investigator a cop?? WHY YES.... you dumb troll, if you are going to flame and rile us up, at a minimum say something that makes sense. Oh wait then you wouldnt be Jeff

Im suprised you guys arent demanding a higher paycheck or bitching about why a "sheriffs investigator" was doing police work. I think it pretty much justifies our salary, no? How many times have you been shot at in your job?
I think it was a great job by all involved. Guy takes a shot at a cop, barricades himself for 11 hours, gets arrested without further incident or injury? That is a professional, well trained police force.
dont feed the troll

look up who grosses the most cash in suffolk, tops are all deps, any dep at top pay will outgross the average scpd at top pay, with o/t included for both. Yes they work a bit more o/t, but dont forget, the take home cruiser w/ free gas. Thats worth 20k a year gas, insurance, upkeep. Frankly 85,000 base aint bad ther for thr job. The original post is about sheriff, who makes way more than anyone in scpd except for a handful of white shirts. I dont think any of you trolls really know anything.
Correct there are more deputies on the sunny side of 150k, then cops on the sunny side of 120k. Newsday prints the highest paid county employees every year, next time check it.

First off troll, we don't demand anything, our union negotiates our contract for us and we go to work. We have had the good grace to have knowlegable people work in our union for many years, that coupled with excellent legal representation has led to good arbitration awards and good salaries for every PO.
To set the record straight, most Deputies make more than PO's do, we have a higher base pay, but frankly we don't get anywhere near the overtime that they get. Couple thier salaries including the OT with the "take home car" etc. and thier compensation is right up there with every other Police Officer in the State. Yes, I wrote Police Officer, because that's what they are. I went through the academy with a lot of Deputies and they did exactly what I did - every day for six and one half months. While they do not have the same functions as most beat cops do in the precincts, they have a large contingent doing very stressful and dangerous Police work. So skippy, take a break from your attempts to cause an arguement between PO's and Deps - and just go away !
If you are a Corrections guy - you don't belong on this site - you are not a cop !

Money isn't everything

When it comes to money, a person goal should be to make the most amount of money working the l amount of hours. This my friend, is the SCPD. I cant wait to get out of my PD at the end of my tour, to take it home with me?! I don't think so, especially since most Sheriffs live in Mastic/Shirley anyway. and then what? park my PD in my dveway? I know some sheriffs that had to park thr PD's at the firehouse and then take thr personal car home because it gave them nothing but trouble. an unmarked car? yeah I would love that, but I think I'll pass on the marked PD whenever I get the chance thank you. I'll pay for the gas on my 4 mile ride to work :) and why do you guys seem so angry? I guess it all started in the academy when we worked the same tour, had the same kind of day, but when we all got paid on those bi-weekly Friday's the resentment started. Oh well you can still take the test! PS I know plenty of sheriff's that came to SCPD. How many SCPD have been taking the sheriffs test or have left our job for yours? think about it, and stop bng so angry and be happy for us we're paid so well. It's good karma.

Who is upset. I would rather make your base also but what the other guy said was we still end up making the same or more we just have to put in more hours. If you only drive 4 miles to work then you ther "work" in a cream puff sector or you live in a skell nborhood. Of course people go from SCSO to SCPD. It is a much easier job for more money. You would have to be an idiot not to. I would rather work less but I am more than happy to work a few extra hours to make my $145,000 use my company car to drive more than 20 miles home out in the Hamptons. That saves 228 miles per week on my personal car. That is over 11,000 miles a year. And considering my vette only gets 11 mpg and my truck gets 14 mpg that saves me at l another $50 per week in gas and I don't have to purchase a new car as often. Plus if I worked for PD I would have a much longer comute to get to the PD district part of suffolk and probably would not be able to live in the Hamptons.
SCPD does have a much easier life but mine is not too bad and I will take it.
Reading the ''war'' going on here between the deps, cos and pos I was going to blast you all, but after seng the ''dont feed the trolls'' post and the ones agreng I have to say, its evident most of these posts are from the same knuckle head.
What cop in suffolk calls himself a ''beat cop"? Cops dont work ''beats'' out here.
What is hilarious...most deputies live mastic/shirley...I worked that area in the 5th, and now the 7th for years, never once have I spoken to a dep anywhere who lives where I work, but I have dozens that live in my hamlet + adjoining hamlet( stonybrook). And to be honest i know about a dozen spcd, 3 bosses that live in those areas. There might be a few, 2-5 but its not ''most'' like 200 out of the 250 deps.
Nor do I know of any dep that is scairt to bring his car home. Why would he, if something happens to the car, call 911, just like one of the k-9 that live in my town after kids messed his car up.
Or is the dep afraid that someone might knock on his door asking for help? grow up.
The deps lag behind scpd by about 15,000 easily made up in o/t and with the county vehicle, your pretend 4 miles a day is fine as far as gas goes but throw in insurance...2500 a year, reg, insp + car payments...another 8000..its pretty close

Thanks to you as well MR. JAIL GUARD !
I am a Deputy, I love my job and like many I took the PD test and never got on thier job. I even scored a perfect 100 % once, then they tossed the list - remember that? Who cares what job you are on as long as you enjoy what you do and can pay all your bills !
This debate can go on all year and it doesn't change a thing - if given the choice of the law enforcement jobs in the county everyone would probably take the PD job, then the Dep job and then the park police, etc. But all the jobs are good ones and all the jobs deserve respect for thier own reasons - we all get to deal with the scum of the county - just on different days and under different circumstances.

Another jail guard troll trying to start problems by posing as a cop. You gave yourself away with the angry comment. No Deputy is angry about SCPD. Nice try kid.
Correct there are more deputies on the sunny side of 150k, then cops on the sunny side of 120k. Newsday prints the highest paid county employees every year, next time check it.
Dont worry. The new Sheriff will make sure that no Deputy will every make that kind of money ever again.

To pay an amount in excess of (a sum due).
v. intr.
Let me assure you suffolk county's officers didnt recved 1 penny they didnt earn via thr contract. The bookkeepers are quite accurate and havent made any mistakes. Suffolk pd, and all other county employees have not been overpaid by any means. You can trust us :o
