well
Same union. Different board, better people.
What are you talking about? Is this a code? Explain your position.
I get it if you don't like the rules you take your bat and ball and go crying to mommy
I assume he's calling for a new union such as going back to CSEA. Otherwise it makes no sense. Your union is the membership, if the membership keeps electing the wrong people you only have yourselves to blame.
We need new blood. People that have 10-15 years to go. The key is to start thinking long-term and not give away the store for 30 pieces of silver now. The union job has become a way for old timers to lay out a red carpet into the sunset. We need to start electing guys who have a stake in the future of the membership. The future being more than 3-4 years till retirement.
Amen Brother !!

AMEN BROTHER !!!! The senior guys of every union job I have had over the past 13 years all do the same things you mentioned above. And lets not forget that the old timers who are also running the union also like the position because they can hide from the job. Unions are all run the same these days, "Different Unions......Same type of A-Holes running them....selling out the young blood "

hey jackoff, remember this when you attempt to slam a senior officer. THey are the ones who made this job over the last 15 years appealing, making the pay scale higher, benifits. If these member of this department, current or retired, had not fought sooooooo hard for everyone, you would still be flipping burgers at Mickey D's or package out veggies at stop n drop.
Believe it brother earn respect, it isn;t just handed out
Amen brother is right and I do believe he was talking about all unions. The trend lately in all union negotiations is give up the new people. Not good for solidarity. Shot term thinking.

There is truth in this statement
Guys have admitted that "I ran for the Union cause I wanted to get off the floors "
Unfortunately we are the "Red-Headed Stepchildren"
Jail Guards nothing more nothing less
The Union is doing a Thankless Job one taht I personally wouldn't want to do
You new guys shud just shut up and take it like men. Like us old timers we put up with crap now you have to. Yours truly Sully.
instead of you assholes badmouthing each other try banding together for once and fighting the county, you guys are pathetic if you want a contract get together and fight dont just lay down
Shoa is broken. The entire board is devoid of credibility. The membership doesn't trust them, the administration can't stand them, the Legislators are tired of their whining and flip flopping and don't even get into Suozzi. Say what you want about Suozzi, but he's in control and right now he loathes the entire board. You say that's good, screw him, but it will only hurt us. They lie to everybody and they are out of answers. Duer tried to be the nice guy, didn't work, then he tried to be Mike Adams, and that's not working out too good. I knew from the beginning this board would never work, becasue they backstab each other. Remember, only the president got in from his slate, and the others never gave him the respect or the loyalty he needed. If he had any brains and balls, he would have clipped thier wings a long time ago, but that's not John. Now we all suffer and we're not done yet.
As for the job, it's still one of the best in the county, but not one aspect of that goes to this boards credit. They came into this a mess and they will leave us all in a much bigger mess. Sorry, but that's reality.

The person who wrote the previous post is completely ignorant and obviousely has a problem with a certain person or persons on the current union board. First off Duer is not the only one left over from the previous board, did you forget Rich Clark, Tom Finston, Dave Laupheimer, Tom DeStefano? And talk about disloyalty? The entire previous board (most importantly John Duer whom you praise) completely sold out Mike Adams and was his biggest backstabber. So was Banschback and Ruiz. They all sold out their own President and claimed a new day was dawning. Duer is a punk sellout who is just riding the tide to his retirement at all costs to keep him out of the jail. Everyone who supported Mike (Sully, Zorn and Clarke) were all voted in and are saddled with Duer who is the face of the union. When Suozzi or Reilly or the republicans or dems want to screw us they just put the thumb on everyones good old friend Duer. The other union guys most likely doesnt even know it. Check your facts and report them, not your biased agenda.
Lets settle this right now; they all suck period. Every one of them, NO EXCEPTIONS.

You new guys shud just shut up and take it like men. Like us old timers we put up with crap now you have to. Yours truly Sully.
It's not all FNG's that are complaining
Some of us are here as long as you and are still working with Inmates
Let me ask you
Are you happy that you vouched for Sposato ???
Imagine that a Cook is now top dog around here
Did you really think that it would be good for us ?
And if so list the reasons and things that Sposato has done for the CO's
One more thing
How about formulating a plan to get us a Contract and improve the working conditions here

No Sully Lover

Im no Sully lover but correct me if I;m wrong. John O was hiding from inmates long before Reilly ever came along and made him the original Chef of Staff, right? Everyone wanted him dead and gone when Reilly made him the temporary Sheriff when his wife died two years ago, because he supposedly forgot where he came from and was screwing everybody left and right, like Tony Z, right?
Now its sully's fault that the union (as a whole) tried something different, right? Isnt Duer the one who supposedly opened up the lines of communication with the Sheriff's office?
I wouldnt be suprised if Sully ended up with a white shirt and stars after his union stint because him and the chef are making out in his crown vic, but who else should be the Chef? I have an idea, lets make Ronnie the Sheriff and one of his clingons like Sgt. fake arms or Lt. (riding on Spence's reputation) the new chef! Then we can forget all about the current band of a-holes and bitch about a new one. right?
You have so much hate I missed your point. Or maybe thats all you have is hate and no point at all. Or maybe you made a good point but I couldn't see it because I was laughing so hard reading your idiotic rantings.
