When is Hevesi issuing his report?

Don't know when Hevesi will release the report. My understanding is that the auditors are digging deep and have only scratched the tip of the iceberg.
One thing is for sure. Our Assemblyman, Chuck Lavine is involved because of the fact is that he voted for several of the city budgets involved in the probe.

That is why Gonzalez is winning the lawn sign/bumper sticker battle big time.
Lt's see...Lavine voted for 3 budgets with big deficits...maybe because 'the fix was in' for the waterfront development already and he and the rest of the dems felt sure of getting that tax revenue.
Now that the waterfront project is in question, what are the dms going to do? 10 mil is a BIG number in Glen Cove. What's that like a 30-40% tax increase?
Or are they now going to say that the only way to avoid a tax increase is to allow massive development on the waterfront?
Kudos to Ralph for calling Hevesi in. Unfortunately for him, the dem city council and the former mayor(s) have created an almost insoluble problem. If the GOP has half a brain they can regain control in Glen Cove.
Oh, by the way 10 mil hole in Glen Cove...100 mil (plus) hole in Nassau...boy that Tommy is a real miracle worker isn't he? Love 'em and leave 'em Tommy. Don't worry, the taxpayers will foot the bill.

Don't forget that Glen Cove is also into the developers for few million if the deal goes south . The developers get reimbursed for some of their expenses. Doubtful it's covered in any budget.

Talk about a total clusterf______! They'll have no choice but to cave in to the developers.

There's an article in Thursday's Newsday which illustrates Glen Cove's financial woes. Ralph Suozzi states that the city will run out of money by the end of the year if it doesn't get emergency financing.
And here's comes the honeydoo of the article where Holzkamp proclaims she didn't know the extent of the deficit and takes a shot at Ralph by stating that a good Mayor knows how to handle deficits. She notes that she could and her predecessor could.
Is she smoking a new brand of pot or what!!!!! She and her City Council are the cause of this mess including the incumbent Assemblyman Chuck Lavine. She wouldn't be able to handle a budget or deficit if it fell right in front of her.
Holzkamp is just better off taking the heat and the responsibility for our city's financial woes along with our "stellar" council under the so-called guidance of "Lovable Mike" Norman.
Interesting how Newsday wrote the story only a couple of days after this post appeared isn't it?
The LI Press should dig deeper.

Well, the waterfront and the city's abysmal financial picture has made for the perfect storm for our city council and the city's current Assemblyman Chuck Lavine.
The city council was ready to give away the store to the Glen Isle waterfront developers and leave us hanging in the wind. Now, we have a huge bleak fnancial future with a deficit of almost $10 million. Where do we go? What do we do you may ask?
Simple. very simple.
You go to the polling booth if you're a Democrat on 9/12 and pull the lever AGAINST Chuck Lavine. You go to the polling booth on 11/7 and pull the lever AGAINST Chuck Lavine.
Simple. Purely simple.
Managing operating deficits? By how issuing bonds? Bonds are generally used only for capital projects budget, not the operating budget.
She learned a lot from Tommy. All of it wrong.

Either Langberg or Gonzolaz are a better choice than Lavine.

Not only Norman, but Jimenez, Gioiono, Meehan, also. They did nothing to stop it or even question it. And by the way, where was Chuckie Baby during this time. raising his hand in agreement while the Mayor, her husband and their drinking buddies were calling him names behind his back.
The state should put in a control board like they did in the county before the city gets one dime of state aid. They just can't be trusted.
Jiminez, as sleezy as they come. He's very aware of all the financial indescretions of the city council. Suozzi lies, Jiminez swears to it. Can't wait till it blows up in his face and he becomes a laughing stock, like his hero Tom Suozzi, is becoming. He won't be able to walk around Supreme Court like the big shot that he thinks he is.
Sat No to High Rise Chuck

The only way we voters of Glen Cove can cast a vote against the massive high-rise development on the waterfront is to vote no on Charles Lavine. If you are registered Democrat, go to the polls on Sept, 12 and vote for Kevin Lanberg to oppose Steve Gonzalez in Nov.
On Election Day Nov. 7, all of should go to the polls and vote for steve Gonzalez for Assembly.

I suppose your are technically correct: Glen Cove residents don't have a way to vote on the waterfront. The decision is up to the planning board. Will voting Lavine out have any direct effect on the waterfront plan? I don't see it, unless your making it a symbolic referendum on the waterfront.

Four major buildings on the waterfront plus the Avalons. Why is Glen Cove investing everything in a real estate market that is going down. The 90's came and went and now there is a market correction. Many experts say the bubble may even burst. If it does Glen Cove will have more problems then they can handle. What's in it for the residents anyway?
No to HR Chuck

Sorry Not Karl H. Voting out the dishonorable Charley Cheesehead is indeed a symbolic gesture to the present City Council. If we vote him out, they will see that they either change course, or suffer the consequences next November.

It's too late for them to save themselves. Demand a recall and get rid of them now before they have a chance to spin more of their webs of deceit.

It's all going to become Section 8 when the owners can't rent it anymore. They'll take the 1500 per month from the govenrnment rather than leave empty apartments.

Starting with Tom Suozzi and followed closely by that financial genius Maryann Holtzkramp, the City of Glen Cove led by Mike(Tom's Go To Guy on Finance) Norman spent money they never had, and knew they would never get, until the waterfront property was sold. All the pretty things that Tom was able to do: the new City Hall, the Tall Ships Festivals (anyone remember those blowouts), raises for himself and his sycophants, fancy SUV's for the police, trips to conferences in Las Vegas for Joey Gioino, all added up.
Now Ralph and Hevesi have found $10 million or more missing, after Likey Mikey assured us that everything was fine, and you Republicans are just trouble- making obstructionists.
What to do? Sell the waterfront fast, and to the highest bidder to pay off those frivolous bills before Carla finally gets fired from the Record Pilot for journalist negligence, and the truth comes out. Fortunately even Newsday was forced to report on the qustionable finances.
Why has the plan gone from recreational/historical to high rise apartment buildings? Simple, residential is where the money is these days, and the plan is to squeeze as many people into every square inch as possible.
Simply stated, Glen Isle will save Tommy, Norman, Holtzkamp, Gioino, and even dear Mrs. Meehan from political ruin, and possibly worse.

Will Anton please fire that moron Carla already. It is an embarrassment. Politics aside, the unfortunate murder victim was from Hewlett. It is in Nassau County. Not Hewlitt, Queens as she reported in this week's Rectal Polyp. If she doesn't know local geography she shouldn't edit a local paper.
Also who edits that toilet paper?

He needs to step it up big time to have any chance at all. Suozzi is bringing out the vote in Glen Cove if he has to drag people to the polls himself. DO NOT underestimate how aggressive Suozzi and Lavine will be in Glen Cove. Langberg needs to bomb Lavine EVERY DAY from now to the primary.

The Long Island Chapter of Shi'ite Jihad Against America and the Nassau Suffolk Association of Islamic Fundamentalist Clerics are pleased to announce that Assemblyman Shah Haq al Aveen(formerly known as Chuck Lavine, son of infidels) will be honored as this year's Man of the Year, at a dinner to be held at Masjid al Quds in West Hempstead.

The evening will include an open non alcoholic bar, halal dinner and firery anti-Zionist rhetoric. Tickets are $150 per person (men only Allah be praised) and floor space is limited.

The word on the street is that the Glen Cove waterfront fiasco and the city of Glen Cove's horrific finances are hurting Lavine and word is out that Lavine is in MAJOR trouble on primary day.

Only if KL gets the word out to dems to tell them how much Chuckie's bad decisions are going to hurt them in their pocketbooks. 30-40-50% tax increases? More?
