(There are a significant number of workers and employers who are contributing to the problems of government by creating an underground or hidden economy that seeks to avoid the payment of payroll taxes, contributions to the Social Security TRust Fund and the Medicare Trust Fund, income taxes and unemployment compensation taxes)

This is an excerpt from the resolution. It is going to committee on August 3rd. If any one of the folks on the committee votes against it they are encouraging the continuence of illegal acitvities by certain folks, mainly illegal aliens and the contractors who hire them.

This is a watered down version of the original SR 25 which paragraph was removed.

(That this legislature hereby expresses its opposition to the construction, renting or funding of hiring halls anywhere in Suffolk County for the hiring of any individual whose residence status in this country is illegal until such time as the federal government fulfills its responsibility to fully enforce immigration laws here within the County of Suffolk and until such time as hiring halls take into account the necessity of complying with all federal immigration laws and federal income taxes, etc. )

The committe did not have the guts to state the problem as it is. Instead they voted it down and watered it down twice until it is a shell of the original. When it finally came out of committee, the illegal alien advocates stormed the legislature and the legislators either abstained or voted it down. It is now coming up again so I suggest you call your legislator or attend and tell him that if he votes is down or abstains, that means he is encouraging illegal behavior by allowing non-payment of taxes by certain individuals at the expense of the rest of us law abiding citizens and legal immigrants.

Even though Latini was a much better choice for legislator than Fisher (VERY well versed on issues and a nice man), I think a Dem primary is just about the only way to go here. Our area only votes for Dems, no matter how good the other candidates are. County legislators have nice porkbarrel funds to distribute to "friends" each year.

2 years in a row, Legislator Viloria-Fisher whose district encompasses West Meadow Beach Public Parkland, generously benefited a private cottage colony's chief grandstander and hornblower, the long island traditions, inc. folklore society based----- with suffolk county taxpayer monies, $1500 and $1700.

The monies were used to convince residents to lobby Englebright and every other legislator in the whole NYState Legislature for reversal of the 1996 enacted state law ordering removal of the cottages by Jan 15, 2005, restoration of the peninsula damaged by decades of unnatural use, and return of the whole public parkland to town residents.

Perhaps Viloria-Fisher didn't know that the town beach had been open to all residents from 1686 when the town was founded up to the time of corrupt town trustees began using the site as a personal perk and a cash cow and a way to win favors from the advantaged and wealthy. And, that for decades people sought to evict squatters on town common property.

Perhaps it's time to question why there is so much secrecy about the suffolk county taxpayer dollars that are dished out to favorite groups and individuals. Why was there no opportunity to inform Viloria-Fisher that it was wrong to give money to effect reversal of enacted state law that benefits the people of Brookhaven, ends the class system at the beach, and repairs and restores the natural environment, all in accord with official environmental studies?



Perhaps Viloria-Fisher is just another victim being used to further greedy motives of persons who held themselves as the only superior stewards of the public parkland.
