What really amazes me about Pete is that he OPPOSES everything!! No matter what anyone proposes, PETE OPPOSES it and runs around telling everyone how evil things are!! This from a guy who sat idly (?) by as his party raped and re-raped the taxpayers of Nassau year after year....from a guy who watched as a criminal element/empire used the patronage system to run an entire COUNTY into bankruptcy while the criminal element/empire enriched itself! Why does Schmitt get re-elected if he is so reviled through-out the county? Everybody knows how useless he is but he's still there. Any clues to this mystery?

I'm not sure you can say he is "very bright." His actions in the legislature certainly hasn't shown any brightness whatsoever.
Would you consider a small government/fiscally responsible candidate from another party? Do you have to vote for republicans or would you rather vote for the person with the best vision and plans? I think for too long in schmitt's district, republican voters voted for him and others simply because they were republican despite the horrible job schmitt has done.

Massapequa is changing and it'll be a heck of a suprise for Pete and his cohorts. There has been alot of movement in the area with old residents leaving and new, young people moving in. The old guard is diminishing.. it's just a matter of getting a good candidate with a bigger mouth than Pete's to change things.

The County tax increases have been absorbed without a peep (except from Schmitt and Mondello). The only tax increases to be seen in October are those resulting from reassessment (O'Shea's problem), school taxes (the local School Board's problem and Pataki who cut aid to the schools) and any Town and Village increases (which are not Suozzi's problems). Most people at this point realize that the biggest problem with taxes comes from the schools and since no one is willing to vote against a school budget, people grudgingly pay.
