Huntington Republican (lack of) Leadership

This is taken verbatim from a Nassau County Post -- it applies to equally (more or less) to the Huntington Republicans...like it or not.

The Nassau (Huntington) Republican Party has a problem stemming from its myopic approach to developing candidates. The current squad of executive leaders has a reputation of caring more for lining its own pockets than promoting the welfare of the party. The Chairman recently moved from his modest Levittown (Smithtown) manse and now lives in ...

Candidates are routinely selected not for talent or vision, but nepotism or cronyism.

All the talk of "taking back the ________" (insert "county", "town", "city", etc.) is nonsense without some talent pool. None of the higher ranking electeds (state senators included) stepped up to the challenge in the county because there was too much personal risk regardless of what the Party needed. The Nassau (Huntington) Republican Party lacks leadership and vision.

It's true on every level and is not limited to any town.

The Party's a dinosaur wholly lacking in young talent.

It's time for a wholesale rebuild, but who do we have in terms of leadership, candidates and future leaders?

These folks desperatley fear young talent -- it is too bad. (Sounds familiar doesn't it Huntington (lack of) Leadership.)

Sam, Steve is right. One of the three, the one without the Y chromosone did not want Mr. Raia. She fought tooth and nail against him. Despite that and the absolute lack of committee support Mr. Raia won. Your also right Steve in that strong support from his mother and a smart core group of supporters gave Mr. Raia his victory.

PS Mr. Cuthbertson was a terrible candidate

Sorry to hear the sad state of affairs at headquarters. What a committee. Mommy did a great job despite the old guard.

As for Mr. Cumbersome, he quickly started to look down on the little people in Town Hall.

Where was his "Republicans for Cumbersome committee" this time around? I didn't see one of thr adds in the papers this past election. Did they all become fence sitters or did just get thrs and drop the councilman?
