What do you consider to be a Republican/Conservative?
(principles, platforms, stances on issues, etc.)
Then who (name of candidate or elected official) do you feel lives up to those principles?
My point is this:There are no real Republican/Conservatives in NY. They are all liberals!!

Dear gop 33,
You did not define what issues you feel makes someone a conservative. For example: Real Conservatives are pro-gun. Peter King is NOT pro-gun. You must first define what issues you think makes someone a Conservative/Republican and then name someone who lives up to it.

The issues ...
Pro-Gun
Pro-1950s values
Anti-Social Programs, except those for the elderly
Pro-Vouchers
Pro-Prayer in Schools
Pro-Tobacco
Pro-Life
Conservatives haven't proven to be "anti-tax-and-spend," but you could add that to the wish list.
So who fits that mold?
Not too many, as far as high-ranking elected officials go on Long Island. Off hand, I can think of Pat Acampora and that's about it.

The traditional, REAL, Republican/Conservative does NOT exist in the downstate area of New York. . . It is just a function of education and affluence.

Retired C: Acampora is NOT pro-gun. If you disagree, resaearch her voting record on this subject.
PYTHON:Thank you. Your answer is accurate!

A real consevative is not "pro gun". A real conservative is against undue government intrusion into personal freedoms and against over regulation. This applies not only to guns, but to prayer, choice of schools, tobacco, etc.
A real conservative is not "anti social programs except those for seniors". A real conservative is against all social programs which seek to substitute the government for personal responsibility, INCLUDING programs for seniors. A real conservative has no problem providing for the weakest of us who truly cannot provide for thmselves, regardless of age, race or creed.
If you are looking for a "real conservative" in an elected official, odds are you will not find one, for they would never be elected and certainly not re-elected. The last of them was most likely gone when our founding fathers passed away.
