Steve Brown was the one who put all the proxys together for Tom Neppell to get elected as well for the last two chairmanships, he is well liked through out the town committee and has a good working relationship with John Lavalle, he knows what needs to be done and is willing to do it. a breath of fresh air if elected to the town chair post, he should have ran for the county.

I don't know where you get your info from, but you're way off base. Proxy collection was assigned to a team of people: Theresa, Susan, Betty and Steve and let's not forget the zone leaders. And what was the proxy collection but a formality. Give me a break. Do you really think that the handling of those proxies was anything more than "paperwork". The town leaders already knew what they were doing long before the proxies were collected and the convention was held. Some of you "posters" are more naive than my 10 year old.

Sorry to disagree bobo... the best choice for leader is NOT someone who is out for themselves. That, coupled with his bad relationship with LaValle is why Lefkowitz cannot get the support. He is not a team player. He has proven that over the past year. He's running scared from his Council race and with that kind of defeatest attitude, how can he lead the party??? He'd have been a more credible candidate if he put as much energy into running for this upcoming council race as he has into trying to be the Chairman. Once again I repeat....there is no vacancy in the Chair for Brookhaven Town Rep Comm. If and when the time comes that there is a vacancy, remember this: As long as you have a sitting supervisor hailing from the North Shore, you will not see the Chair coming from the North Shore. THe committee won't stand for it. Its about the balance of power and now that the councilmen no longer wield townwide power, that just makes the supervisor that much more powerful. Eddie may stay on as chair after September, but he's got a long way to go to prove himself. Hopefully he will make the most of the opportunity he's been given. As for Charlie...Give it UP.
