Actually, if you're conducting a corruption investigation properly, there is nothing for the media to report, because nobody within the office is talking.

If, in fact there is an investigation (and on this board that is a stretch), the silence could be a welcome sign of professionalism within the DA's office.

What is the issue with the packing plant? Does the Town Code forbid a meat packing plant? If it isn't forbidden, then there is no issue for the BZA to deal with, as I understand the zoning code.

Here is the section of the Zoning Code of the Town of North Hempstead that the plant violates.

§ 70-172. Permitted uses.
In the Industrial A District, a building may be erected, altered or used and a lot or premises may be used for the following uses and no other:
D. Light industrial uses in which the principal activity shall be the manufacture, intermediate processing or assembly of goods for consumer use, or the storage or distribution of such goods, as follows:
(1)Storage or distribution of food products, including beverage blending or bottling, bakery products, and manufacture of ice cream and dairy products, but not including distillation of beverages or slaughtering and meat-packing.

Now, is anybody reeeeealy gonna do anything?

Check your zoning map. It's not Industrial A.

Let's see...it says slaughtering and meat packing. That seems like an important conjunction.

It also says bottling or blending.

And means something very different than or. You must know that from Schoolhouse Rock.

And all that's irrelevant because its in a district that allows processing.

Stick to rumors and falsehoods. You're not very good at statutes.

Doesn't appear that way on the Town's map the way it was shown to me. Even if it is, they better keep it clean and sweet smelling. If not, we can make a case for:

Wow - McHugh- still upset at your loss in November? You know you can't hinge your whole loss on the Maharaja supermarket, despite the smear campaign you and Peter Cavallaro expertly launched. Maybe if you had actually focused on issues that the people of New Hyde Park cared about and actually addressed what you might do to correct them, then you could've actually mustered up some of the vote. You also have to remember that it's the community that keeps Maharaja in business - it's not like they're a not-for-proft.

Settle down, everybody. As soon as all the TONH characters agree on the split of the booty, Ricee will come in and cleanse the matter into oblivion (just as she's doing in the roslyn school scandal). Without a special prosecutor to look into all of the corruption in TONH, including the roslyn school scandal and the new da's office involvement, nothing will happen ever.
