View Full Version : Suozz threatens to get rid of 1 Assemblyman + 1 State Senato

Hi Ho Silver

From 1010 WINS and Newsday. In Nassau, I figure its Sidikmann (Oyster Bay) in the Assembly who will be challenged and Dean Skelos (Rockville Ctr.) from the Senate. Anyone know?

It should be McDonough or O'Connell and Fuschillo or Hannon. All are rubber-stampers.

Skelos may be an ass, but he is too high up in the Senate food chain to want to remove. Same with DiNapoli in the assembly.

If you stick with Democrats on the assembly-side, why Sidikman and not Weisenberg? Will the Long Beach revolt make it likely Weisenberg will have a difficult re-election campaign anyway?

It's Marcellino, the weakest link, and Barra.

DEAN SKELOS IS AN OUTSTANDING SENATOR.

TOM SUOZZI HAS NO POWER TO "GET RID OF HIM".

i WOULD LIKE TO SEE HIM TRY.

No coattail Suzzi, it looks like the baby has once again opened his mouth and what came out, nothing. It was nice to see Assembly Speaker Silver come out so early for Spitzer. A nice message for Baby Tommy.

SOUZZI HAS NO INFLEUNCE ON GETTING RID OF ANY GOP MEMBER IN ALBANY. HE CAN HAVE A SAY ON A DEM ASSEMBLYMAN, MAYBE PRIMARY SUPPORT, BUT THATS IT. ACTING LIKE A LITTLE BOY. SOUZZI BARELY HELD A 10-9 MARGIN IN THE COUNTY GOVT, HOW COU;D HE EXPECT TO INFLEUNCE STATE ELECTIONS. WHAT A JOKE

is the best way to describe our CE. Plain and simple, he wants to be Governor and he wants in NOW. He is looking for ways to get on the statewide stage.

Additionally, he and his advisors made the common error of believing their own press. At the end of the day, he beat the party favorite in a primary for CE. That's all he did. An impressive feat, yes, but it was just an upset primary win. [The general was a foregone conclusion, obviously.] He was also hardly an outsider, he was from a politcally connected family and held local office already.

He'd better stop acting like being CE isn't good enough for him.

Make no mistake, Sheldon Silver is very shrewd and calculating.Although his announcement to support Spitzer resonates on many levels, it was also a first shot at Suozzi for taking on Silver's turf.
What changed?
Souzzi went from a somewhat insignificant annoyance to Silver, to now at outright enemy that Silver whats to deliver at least a strong body blow, if really too soon for Silver's eventual knockout punch.
Souzzi's "grassroots coalition against Albany" has become the political "roots of grass he'll be lying under".
...and Tom knows it!

Remember that coup attempt several years back to depose him as Speaker? Didn't work, did it?

And does nobody believe the recent termination of Patricia Lynch as the Nassau Lobbyist was in no way related to this little scuffle? Get real.

Tommy Boy is trying to pull an end run around Silver because he knows he has to get around his influence, can't take him on mano a mano and win.

We had to wait a long time - but watching Suozzi fall will be such fun. Thanks to Newsday, it's all but guaranteed. People hate only one thing more than Suozzi and that's Newsday. The stronger they push in his direction, the further their circulation falls and the more defiant people become. Just like a lot of undecided's came down for Bush after Bin Laden tried to sway the election, so too will they come down for Peterson after Newsday's fictious last endorsement. Bye Suozzi. The media did you in.

Didn't the Greg Peterson photo in Newsday today look like Ricardo Montalban welcoming someone to Fantasy Island?

As in yes, you want to be County Exeecutive. For a half hour on Tuesday night, this might be true. Of course, the dream will fade as the rest of the county votes come in.
