Joe Finley

I attended the 30th annual C-PAC conference two weeks ago and saw of all people Joe Finley. I did not approach him but watched and he was really working the crowd? It also looked like he had a couple of people with him bringing him around and introducing him to certain people. Is this the sign of things to come??

he wants to run for congress again, he has no support, the county and national committee make that selection and he isn't going to get their support.

Finley did get 42% of the vote and I did not even get any mail from him. Whereas Steve Israel sent me around eight letters. That says something about Finley! He even did better then Johnson who we all know had the resources to win that seat but was a terrible candidate. This is what is wrong with the republican committee these days they do not see the big picture. If they give Finley the nudge and backing I think he might have a shot.

42% of the vote for Finley came from the 42% of the voters who hate Israel and would have voted for Howdy Doody if he were running. Then again if I think back to watching Finley at last years fundraisers maybe it was Howdy Doody.

If Israel had the C line he would have won by even more too.Why should we care? Finley was better than Johnson, but that's like arguing Postal is better than Tonna-true but barely. Binder blows them all...away.

I have to say that I think Joe Finley is being seriously underestimated. I had the opportunity to meet Finley a few times last cycle, and he really seems to have a good message...he just had some trouble getting it out. Considering all of his obstacles, I think his showing was surprisingly respectable. It is because of that showing that I would bet the party might get behind him if he chose to run again. Does anyone know who else the Republicans have??? Finley is a straight shooter and, I'm tellin ya...he has potential!

Why does he hate the Republican party in Huntington so much when he doesn't even live here?

a)Cause they cut funding to his alma matter Suffolk Community College?

Finley was not underestimated, he is the worst politician I ever met. I met Finley at a train station in 02 and was turned off by his arrogance, sense of entitlement because of 9-11 and his lack of understanding of the most elemetary issue beyond the few lines he was trained to regurgitate. My feelings were justified by watching him debate Israel.

Finley had his 15 minutes of fame and has no future in politics. good riddence to this flake, because I do not want to vote for Steve Israel again.

to have the stamina to run for the House and allegedly

SI doesn't have this sewn up for ever.He has to many close ties to fat cats. He owes them. And they want to keep developing, building, building, building etc.They may give him money but local citizens exhausted from over population and traffic. He better take notice of what the voters want.

Steve Israel does not have much to do with local developing. That is done throught the Town Boards and local government. So pick a different reason for Israel not to prosper.

Israel is a hard working Congressman who does right by his district. He is better than that right wing nut Lazio and better than a left wing Democrat. We have a down the center Congressman who gets it.

Hope Finley is enjoying his 3/4 tax free disability
retirement pension. He did not seem disabled during
the 2002 campaign.
