Reading Lavine's election law filings, can't help but think of the term someone in Kerry's campaign used to describe the Iraqui war "coalition" ("the coalition of the coerced and the ....."). County employees, county contractors and members and relatives of the Glen Cove City Council and government. Not exactly diverse, not exactly broad-based, and not exactly a lot of money left (around $8,000). Sidikman has more (over $25,000, which came in toward the end of the primary and after), and he's not even actively campaigning on his two lines. Maybe he should.

better yet, check the fix Albany filings. One big fat contribution from Tom Suozzi and lots of little contributions from BOE, and County employees. Suozzi spent hours on the phone calling these people. Talk about intimidation- how can someone say no to the boss. contributions weren't about Tom appreciating it, they were about making sure there is no negative reprecussions if nothing was given- being forced to be on "the same Team".

It takes a dictator to force the finance of his own dream.

Drags in attorneys from NYC to save them from getting fired for incompetency and arrested for fraud and letting them drag in friends to be put in charge of units they have no experience in at $90,000 salary's and then to let them bring in more inexperienced friends at $60,000 and $70,000 salary's and then to sit back and watch them come and go as they please, widdle away the day handling one or two cases at a time and spending the rest of the day at lunch, on the internet, with the PTA or planning dinner and then threatening outside counsel to start making political contributions to Suozzi or risk being run out of Nassau County. She does that real good too.
