Does anyone in ISLIP really believe that fromer Town Attny "Messina the Younger" didn't know what the Supervisor was doing.........and got out before the sh-t hit the front pages.

Does anyone think for a min that the former deputy "Mom Messina", now acting Super also didn't know what McGowen was doing. Please she is Town GOP Vice Chair.

Councilman Rowley.......please you did know there might be a conflict of interest...fiduciary duty, oath of office.

Does anyone believe Ceaser if he is really the GOP Leader didn't know what "Councilman Kick-back" Rowley or McGowen were doing for how many years.

Ever have a girlfriend/boyfriend cheat on you and hide it? Although it's a stretch it's similar.

Just because you are the vice chair doesn't mean you are involved in everything that goes on and in fact a lot of the time it leves you out of the loop on a majority of the issues.

#2 Although Pete did do some wrong, Islip is still better of having had him. The airport, the federal funds for schools, the jobs and generally... he jsut brought a lot of money to the area.

I've see worse abuse son a daily basis up in Albany and frnakly I was sad to see him go. He never ripped off the district, he ripped off campaign contributors (which if you're dumb enough to contribute to any campaign I say nuts to you) He was a great man and politician.... he just caught caught when most don't

mcgowan did NOT do all he claimed stake to. You are naive and a fool to believe that. he is a wicked wicked man and he GOT CAUGHT b/c he thought he was untouchable. he deserves everything he gets and then some. Most likely, he pleaded guilty b/c we haven't even seen the tip of the iceburg or should I say the deep pockets he went into within the Town of Islip.

I also find it ironic that where the school distiricts are concerned everyone is up in arms b/c of the scandals and yet "poor pete" he was good for the most part he just made a boo-boo and got caught every pol does this he just got caught. PLEASE

I went to HS under McGowan... my school received a much needed 40 million dollar bond to update the HighSchool the last year I was there. That seems pretty good to me seeing as the fudns were originally earmarked for Georgia.

And whether he personally brokered the airport deal or not it was under his watch adn it was his appointed staff/negotiators that actually did it. As for wicked... I never knew that going to fancy dinners and receiving a car was "wicked"...

I agree it was probably the tip of the iceburg otherwise he wouldn't have ran so quick, but who knows what that cieberg would have revealed.... a drug addict daughter or son perhaps... extra marital affairs... it isn't necessarily more embezlement although I'd think it would.

you have to work it up on a scale and try to be unbiased.... EVERY politician is corrupt in one way or another... and only a few get caught... but you have to weigh the benefits given versus the corruption
