When was the last time you walked a middle class neighboorhood where everyone works holding down 3 or 4 jobs to live in the county that you and your cronies have destroyed. You and your ilk (Democrats are included) have destroyed the middle class fabric in Nassau County. But it was primarily your stewardship in not letting Gulotta raise taxes in 1992 that have haunted us ever since. It is time for a new GOP chairman with some respect for the middle class. Greg Peterson would make an excellent choice to replace you.

when Bruce Bent wrote that letter to all committteepeople attacking the GOP--yep, ol' Greg. Peterson is another of the ol backslappin, lie to your face, bullshit artist Mondello type pol who is NOT one bit different from Mondello, Except he's not an egomaniacal ginny. . . Peterson would just be more of the same, though...

Though a change would be nice, I have to disagree with Reforms open ballot idea.
Frankly, I would prefer someone from within the structure taking over the mantle.
last thing WE need is a guy like Bent trying to run the show. Talk about forgetting the middle class. This guy was unapproachable as a candidate. Imagine if he was in charge, people would leave in droves.
A few choices would be nice to vote on, but the downside to your idea is scary.
Change is needed, and may come, but having an outsider who has no idea what it is like to get sig's, walk streets, do trains stations is bad news.

The real dilemma is that all those who know how to run the organization are a bunch of HACKS who are punched out of the mondello mold. he has been here so long, anyone young enough to serve as chairman only knows him.. Alot of the real younguns dont even remember Margiotta!! So, Mondello becomes the exemplar. The trick is to find a freethinker who can distinguish him/herself from the mondello style, run the party the way it should be run, etc. . But, then the argument on the other side of the fence is that Mondello shepherded the Nassau GOP through some very tough times and with rare exception, victoriously..As the General said, you cant argue with success. . . The Nassau GOP is still one of the few party "machines" that is studied in colleges around the country in poli sci classes (yes, its true)...They called General Patton old "blood and guts"...their blood, his guts..Sought of the way things on Post Avenue run!

I concur with the previous post in 100% fashion!
Reformers detractors have cat on their tongue and Mondello's boots up their arse!

The problem with the last posts is that it gives teh impression that if you do not agree with them, your a suck up to Mondello and should be ignored.
maybe some people actually want to see some change, but don't fully agree with how some want it done. That would open a debate for COMPROMISE.
Unlike the last poster who says my way or no way. Sometimes, trying to convince people of changes requires compromise and debate.

...it will be because of Judge Kaye's rule about County chairmen whom are in law firms . Joe must be howling at the money he is losing when he was forced to leave Certillman. The next chairman would be Santino--this would be the consolation prize after missing out on Hempstead Supervisor. Joe would think Tony would be his puppet; just like Margiotta thought Mondello was his. History WOULD repeat itself.

Santino may be the next Chairman and Mondello would think he owns him the same way Margiotta thought that of Mondello when Margiotta went away to camp, HOWEVER, as we know Mondello turned on Margiotta And Santino WILL TURN ON MONDELLO, for embarrassing him in the Supervisor selection. SAntino will shove it up ole' Joe'S Arse, if he has any backbone...Momdello effed Santino and Santino should get even the first chance he gets...Come On TONY, YOU KNOW WHERE THE SKELETONS ARE BURIED>

Santino will never be chairman. If Cairo was able to block him from being supervisor, what makes anyone thing the same won't happen if he tries to become chairman. There will be an extreme voter backlash against the Republicans if Santino takes the reigns...back to the days where every position is held by a white male over age 45 and no staffer for any elected official is below 30. Result of this strategy: GOP loses the county...next would be the totality of Oyster Bay and eventually Hempstead.

February 4th was an evening Town Board meeting with all in attendance. There was no Dept meeting during the day with anyone not attending. There is unanimous support for Kate as the new Supervisor, despite any hopes by other contenders because we support our Party!
