Josie-You are misinformed! Tony M Toni R & Z didn't lose it. when Toni R was Sup her hands were tied by Bobby, Gerry and Dan. They are the ones responsible for Petrone and handing the town to the Dems. They could't get theirencumbent (Donnie) reelected. He was the only encumbent in NYS to lose that year and that was the beginning of the end for the Reps in Huntington. They took care of themselves but not their own.

I think Mr. Wallyworld's posting gave the most accurate depiction of the future of the Suffolk GOP. Dr. Withers credentials are impeccable, and he is the only one in my mind that can bring this whole thing together. Dr. Withers is an extremely bright man, detail orientated and knows how to win. Does it help that he is liked by Supervisor McGowan, and Supervisor LaValle? Absolutly! Does it also help that he comes from Babylon, a Town that is out of the Islip, Brookhaven, Gaffney fray? Absolutly. What is the old saying you reap what you sow. Mr Gaffney (through the Koppollaro connection) and Mr. Tonna @#$#&% all over the other (9) nine towns for so long it was bound to catch up with them. Mr LaValle & Mr McGowan are also extremely bright and politically savy. Like sharks they smelt blood, and went in for the kill. No doubt this could have been avoided if Gaffney and his people treated the Towns with a little respect and dinity. Dr. Withers has an extremely difficult task in front of him, but ultimatly all will see that he is up for the task!
