View Full Version : Report threats and violent co-workers to authorities
I Dont Believe this

Tom Suozzi is just such a calm, passive person. How can anybody want to commit violent or inappropriate when your commander in chief has such a soothing personality? Besides, the County is in great financial shape. Workplace morale is at an all time high.
Everyone is just one big happy family, the GOP/DEMS and members of the various minor parties have complete trust in the agendas of the others, holding hands and singing Arlo Gutherie songs, as they do the work of the people.
And let us never forget that there is no ill will whatsoever between highly compensated political appointees with no experience whatsoever and the underpaid civil servants and tenured professional appointees whose rabbis have long since been voted out of office, but who hang on in quiet desparation, hoping to clock more time into their pensions, hoping to hold on for just one more year, then they'll make that big change.
Tom Suozzi is the Eugene Victor Debs of Nassau County Politics. He has created a workers paradise in Nassau County. Tom Suozzi is the greatest leader of our times, he inspires like Churchill, but rules with the iron fist of Joe Stalin.
But all kidding aside, workplace violence is a serious issue, particularly in Nassau County. The Sylver situation was a classic example of where violent and criminal behavior was covered up when it was committed by a high level official in the administration. Frankly, I am surprised that many of the so called loose cannons from the previous administration still roam loose at 1 West Street, and that the County actually imported a number of extremely loose cannons from the private sector and other municipalities.
Not even the great Hedley (don't call me Heddy) Lamar, from Blazing Saddles could top Sir Thomas of Tantrum in terms of assemblying the most frightening bunch of mugs, pugs, lugs, scallywags, et al... that one can possible assemble.
Too bad Tom Suozzi couldn't hire Slim Pickens to be his Chief Deputy County Executive. That would have made it perfect.

Not a real popular subject, but if your a county worker and you work with someone who is violent by nature, someone who makes threats regularly, you need to tell your boss, and document the violence.
Lately, there have been too many "loose canons" going off in the workplace and at home. If not, when you are hit or maimed by this person, you may have no recourse. These low life's know how to work the system and they are nothing more than bullies. They rarely pick on anyone they might have a problem with. Usually they go after weaker and non aggressive people.
Go to the police and DA's office if someone is threatening you. Don't take it lightly. We work with a potential time bomb and we are just waiting for the day when he hits someone. He already has hurt a fellow worker BADLY, but of course this is Nassau county, and he was allowed to remain on the job. We are hoping to get him released before he hurts another person, but because nothing was ever documented, it's very difficult. Be careful and write up these offenders, because the house you save may be your own.

Hey, no problem getting away with violent behavior at Nassau County. All they did to me was TRANSFER ME OUT of Mineola, give me a mop, and let me sign for deliveries - all the while collecting my $125k salary and adding to my time in the system. I'm pretty happy here in Bethpage but since I have no real responsibilities or people to spy on, scream at, or "supervise", it's kind of boring. I really miss the days when I was the King of I.T., the power broker, slithering around the halls at 1550 from 6am to dark, feared by everyone for they knew the wrath of my fury! Oh what a joyfull time that was! I yearn for my days of glory and power!
Too bad management found out I was a true-blue psycho and totally removed me from contact with other staff. They even noted my problems in my personnel file. So now it's just me and my plants, I don't even have a patio to tend to <weep>. Oh well, I'll cry all the way to the bank with my FAT paycheck while I do NOTHING to earn it. Thank you residents of Nassau for your generosity in over-compensating me with your hard earned $$$ !
And to all you Chase IT employees who just got laid off -please don't forget to pay your taxes to cover my HUGE salary and bene's. If I ever lost my job, there's no way I could ever make it in the private sector or anywhere for that matter. Thank you so much!

We have our share of anger management enrollees but perhaps the biggest one of all, a civlian who has attacked staff and inmates in the past was finally let go for yet another violent act. People are fed up with this kind of crap and they are fighting back. This is what Nassau needs to do with on the job offenders. Get rid of the people who threaten our employees, who make going to work a stressful experience. Why should anyone need to deal with threats of violence everyday. I hope they have all this guys threats documented, and I beleive they do. If he acts out again, they should lock him up and throw away the key!!

Why does everyone have a problem with Violins?
I think violins make very beautiful music. Tom Suozzi must be taking Conductor lessons and getting ready to lead a symphony if violins are involved.
If I get elected back into the legislature in 2005, I will sponsor legislation that will protect Violin players.
First I will check with Nigro if we have any Violin players in Long Beach that we can squeeze, I mean request financial support from.
Say Yes to Violins!

Hey Zapson, you need a little prozac yourself there dude! It's not violins we have a problem with...it's violets!!!
Those purple little petals can kill you if your not careful. Stop the violets on the job and stop them now!!

Former City Councilman and current Long Beach Democratic Leader Scotty "Snotty" Nigro's legend began when the Coalition took a photo of the previous City Council. The problem, Snotty was caught picking his nose. I mean he is no Jim Hennessy to look at. The photo with his fist shoved up his whole nose pulling at what must have been an absolute boulder of a booger began the legend of Snotty Nigro.
This is why most if not all people refuse to shake hands with "Snotty". Most people I know bring hand disinfectant when going to local parties to avoid shaking hands with him. In case Snotty succeeds in shaking your hand, carry HAND CREAM DISINFECTANT. A must in the upcoming political season. If you must support the Long Beach Dems, you can contribute by sending Josh Ketover/ Tom Suozzi HAND CREAM DISINFECTANT.

I saw the picture. It was doctored by Moriarty and the Long Beach Republicans. I heard they have that capability. Look, they succeeded in getting the people to believe we the Long Beach Democrats were responsible for the all the financial problems in Long Beach. It is ridiculous.
Go ahead and shake hands with Scott Nigro. It is OK. I am accustomed to seeing green in people's hands when I shake hands with them. It usually isn't snot.
DO NOT ALLOW PEOPLE YOU WORK WITH/FOR TO USE THREATS AND INTIMIDATION AGAINST YOU. ON THE JOB VIOLENCE IS A SERIOUS THREAT. THESE PEOLE NEED TO BE FIRED AND THEN IF WARRANTED, PUT IN JAIL. I STTOD UP TO ONE OF THE WORST BULLIES IN NASSAU HISTORY AND I HOPE HE GETS THE BOOT!!
PEOPLE TELL ME I'M GOING TO GET IT BECAUSE HE'S A NUT, BUT I HAD TO STAND UP TO HIM AND SO SHOULD EVERYONE ELSE. NEVER LET ANYONE RUIN YOUR CAREER, BUT ALSO DON'T LET THIS GO WITHOUT DOCUMENTING IT. I DID IT AND NOW IM VERY HAPPY. I HOPE HE GETS FIRED.

Snot could be seen as a threat if you are openly picking that nose of yours like you love to do. Please Snotty Nigro, for the love of all, PLEASE STOP PICKING YOUR NOSE!

Rumors abound that Snotty Nigro, the green lovin machine, prepared to announce comeback for City Council and step down as Long Beach Democratic leader.
Word is that former building commissioner, Steve Polcer to replace Snotty Nigro.
You better take a good look in the mirror at yourself because your not stable

but it's taken at face value. Everyone knows anybody can write any kind of false allegation against anybody else without support, especially if you are a supervisor and it's Suozzi's evaluation system. Call the cops if someone is truly violent. Calling someone a psycho is just ripe for a lawsuit.

Anyone who threatens workers on the job with violence needs to be dealt with seriously. Violent people MUST be removed from the workplace. Nuts is nuts and usually there is no way to fix these violent people. Fire them NOW!

What happened to this Ira Hill guy? Did he take the early retirement? We used to see him lurking around but not in a long time now. He was one scary looking dude, looked like he was knocking a death's door.

Ira Hill is alive and well at the new IT office at 160 Old Country Rd. He's still a psycho, yells and screams and anything that gets in his way. He's a lucky boy that he has his Civil Service title 'cause he would not last one day with his lack of self control and immature behavior, let alone his lack of skills. Guess the County always has room for a 120k/yr stock boy 'cause that's all he can do!!!! He's a joke but the real crime is that we are paying waaay above the going rate for this bozo, and that would assume that he was actually competent, which he is not. Another sad example of how Civil Service screws the people of Nassau.
Is it possible?
05-17-2005, 09:43 PM
Is it possible that the real bozo's are the staffers Hill has to put up with and that the only way he can get them to the right thing, or do anything, or listen to him, or keep them from screwing something up is to yell and scream because that's the only way sometimes to motivate really thick, really dumb, really lazy, really unqualified people into doing what he wants done?

Because of past performance (the lack thereof) Ira Hill has no one reporting to him even though he holds the title of Network Manager, which is a grade 19. When Craig I-don't-know-a-fire-etc Love interviewed everyone in IT, there was one commonality that everyone who reported to Ira Hill shared - he was genuinely despised because of his offensive behavior and feared because of his mental instability. He made Pat Sasso look like Shirley Temple.
Upon discovering this, Craig made his only good decision while IT Commissioner - he put Ira in a position as stock boy with no supervisory responsibilities. Besides watering the IT patio area, Ira's main responsibility over the last 2 years was to accept deliveries during construction of the new data center and mop the floors in between. You can't make this up - a 120k/yr floor mopper! He then demanded and received an office at 160 OCR so he could have a personal air conditioner because of his "allergy problems". Funny how these medical conditions just pop up at the right time.
However, he does have a genuine disease and suffers from Lupus. That’s probably why a prior poster stated he looked like death. He avoids the sun so his skin is always a pale white color and he's as skinny as a tooth pick. His symptoms have probably contributed to his inability to deal with other people and his psycho behavior. One could only imagine how miserable he makes his family. He once screamed at his wife for buying him shoes that were too noisy as he slithered around the hallways at the Old Courthouse. He couldn't sneak up on anyone!
Regardless, even though he has a serious disease, many people have ailments and successfully deal with them so no one feels sorry for poor Ira. If anything, most people who have worked for him still hate him to the point they may wish his condition would cause him to succumb. Or maybe just depart the County on a medical disability. But Ira won't be leaving anytime soon. His only joy in life is to plot his comeback and become the IT Commissioner no matter who he has to step on in the process. Or give candy to.
Well, good luck to you Ira! And please enjoy your fat unearned salary of roughly $120k/yr complements of the taxpayers of Nassau County. PS - what will your pension payments be after 20 yrs????

Lupus is a seriously disabling disease. God bless someone who has that illness and who goes to work everyday. It sounds to me like you're the one with the mental illness pal. Enough with this nonsense already. Nobody cares but you. Give it up and say a prayer that they find a cure for Lupus.
