Not buying their crap

Now let me get this straight, all the open land that should be perserved in Nassau is primarily located on the north shore while central and south Nassau is perceived as already overdeveloped. DUH! No shit Sherlock. What little open land that is left in these areas is immediately gobbled up so additional strip malls and senior housing developments can be errected. Why not put some of those strip malls and senior housing in let's say Oyster Bay Cove, Old Westbury and East Hills instead of the already crowded areas that always get dumped in. Sorry but I for one do not buy the fact that there is no open land in central and south Nassau. It's there but politicians and developers like thieves in the night make the open land disappear when it comes time to dole out money to purchase said land for perservation. Time to end the overcrowding of central and south Nassau and dump the overflowing masses into north Nassau. Enough is enough.
skippy

You really have NO IDEA what you're talking about. Just look at a map. There is NO SPACE anywhere in Nassau. Additionally, instead of complaining, why didn't you get the people in your district to NOMINATE a property? If they could even find one!! The county is trying to preserve the little bit of open space that's left. Yes, it's on the north shore. That's where the big properties were for many years.
NIMBY...

the bottom line is that senior housing, affordable housing, strip malls, etc will never be built in the lily white areas of nassau county. call it "the new whiote man's burden" to bring economic power to the minority communities, but that's the only place any of this over-development will occur...
NIMBY
You are all retarded. Developers look at development from a financial perspective. Land on the south shore is cheaper than land on the north shore.

Bruce "I control the county technology contracts" Brodsky is trying to develop in Sands Point. His real estate company wants to tear down an historic mansion on the Sound designed by Stanford White and put up six or more mini-mansions.
Now that's progress!
