Last time I checked the volunteer FD's have LOSAP programs, that means you are reimbursed for your time in the form of a retirement stipend -that I pay for in my taxbill-when you come to age 65 or 55 in some places. Oh and I voted for it because anyone that gets up at 3am for a stubbed toe should be compensated. .AND the last time I checked all of that equipment you guys use or don't use, all of the latest and the greatest is from TAXPAYER funds, go ask the VFD's upstate what kind of grief they go through to get a 20 year old truck.
