I never knew Caracappa to be anything other than honest and hard working if you have facts name them other than that be quiet.

The timing of Spota's investigation to coincide with the County Clerk selection process can't be political--if it is, it hurts the Democrats, not the Republicans. Pete McGowan would likely have lost the County Clerk race to a Democrat--he's very unpopular. The Republicans have better chance of keeping the job with any of the other contenders. So if the effect of this probe is destroy McGowan's ambitions to be Suffolk's next County Clerk, only the Democrats are hurt by that...they'll have a tougher race on their hands.

The gov appoints, does not have to deal with SC GOP pols if he chooses not to.

JC will be appointed to Clerks position.

He will then reluctently assume position of town GOP Chair behind the scene w/out the title to avoid all those problems.

Then proceed to rebuilt the town patronage / political base, and serve as altenative to incumbent town supervisor in the not so distant future.

JC's old mentor TR assumes the actual GOP Party Chair while assuming elder party stature and declaring she will not seek elected office again but attempt to rebuild the Huntington GOP and the people of her beloved town.

Flannnnnnnagannnnn "I'm not anything like Jim Lack" is going beserk and doing everything in his lessening power to squash the deal. And I thought they were friends.......such is politics.......!
