NYS Park Police will be merging with my Islip Airport Security Police Stormtroopers in my bid to take over the Northeast. They will turn in their badges and guns and wear the uniform of the only true security force in NYS.
Park Police are useless...hire a security guard for $5 a hour.
I hear that the parks police will wear french maid outfits in the summer and during the winter months they will dress like playboy bunnies...... but its not official yet the bill is still on pataki's desk

A while back a call for assistance went out when a Bay Constable was in pursuit of a suspected DWI. When the pursuit terminated in Oak Beach the suspect shot and subsequently ran over the Bay Constable (who was also a recently retired NYPD Lieutenant), resulting in his death. For those with short and/or defective memories it was the NYS Park Police that was the first assistance to arrive and it was a NYS Park Police Sergeant that, when faced by the armed suspect, shot and killed him.
There was no mention of the NYS Park Police wearing maid's outfits or Playboy bunny costumes. But I'll bet that if your azz is being hung out to dry by some hairball you won't care what someone is dressed like as long as they save your worthless hide.
Now go tell your mommy to tuck you in, you slimey troll.
The french maid thing is funny......may I quote one of the great movies of the 1980's when I say to you " lighten up francis"

Wrong the more p.o.s out there the better.
Park Police is a joke.....just hire anyone to do that or let SCPD handle.

Pretty funny comments about the state park police.
I guess every job has it's jealous officers who like to insult fellow officers. Some jobs have more than others. I wonder how many of you officers on the "Big Jobs" have been driven home by the state park police, you know when your driving around a little "fatigued" or you tailgated a littl e too much at the Jones Beach Theatre.
Merry Christmas to all, and to all a safe tour.

you dont get it do you?
Emails from management going around that with the binding arbitration ready to be announced for Parks SUNY and DEC, the parks will not have enough in their budget to meet payroll. Hence, since they are going to be making trooper pay, they want the troopers to absorb them and pay them.

BA is Binding Arbitration (I.e., The only way to get a fair contract from the state).
No contract (monetary) news. They are, however, in the process of closing some of the non monetary articles of the contract. A contract probably won't be completed until late Spring or Summer 2008.

Do you think they will get the 20 year retirement or parity in pay with the Troopers?

NO. BEST CASE SCENARIO FOR RETIREMENT IS 25 YEARS, RIGHT NOW. THE LEGISLATURE PASSED THE 25 YEAR BILL TWICE BUT PATAKI VETOED BOTH; SPITZER IS THOUGHT TO SUPPORT SUCH A BILL. LATER ON DOWN THE ROAD A 20 YEAR BILL IS POSSIBLE.
PARITY CANNOT HAPPEN NOW BECAUSE THE FIRST BINDING ARBITRATION AWARD SUGGESTED THAT PARKS, SUNY, AND ENCON ARE POLICE THUS SHOULD MAKE MORE THAN STATE CORRECTIONS BUT LESS THAN TROOPERS; THE RATIONALE BEING THAT THE LEGISLATURE OFFERED TROOPERS A MORE COMPREHENSIVE BINDING ARBITRATION BILL, AND THAT THE TROOPERS OFFER THE STATE A WIDER ARRAY OF POLICE SERVICES.

So at least getting the 20 will be a big plus. I hope they get it. What do Park Police top out at now and after how long? I know they get a bunch of extras like hazzard pay and downstate adjustment but what does it all add up to in the end.
Thanks again

Downstate, you should come close to 50K your first year with just a little O/T. And, because the current contract is expired (2.5 Years), their is no way to figure what you will top off at. Good luck in the Academy!

Gee do I make it that obvious?? Thanks man, Im going in and its looking like decent things are on the way for them within the next few years. I like the environment they work in and the money is better now than it was a few years ago so lets see. I cant find there current contract anywhere and dont even know if I could find it online. Im just trying to dig up whatever I can.
Thanks Again
