NC GOP Harvest Moon Celebration
honoring Joe Cairo
October 3 6PM
Crest Hollow

$500

Whoever would have thought that an attorney who comitted the most unethical action of the profession would be given "honors"?

They still don't get it do they?

Maybe we need to take another look at the plea agreement and reinterview the N. Bellmore Committeeman's wife who Cairo "borrowed" escrow monies from to pay for his own personal expenses.

According to the invitation to this event,
Joe Cairo is the First Vice-Chairman of the Party.

Also being honored are Tony Santinio, which has caused some other Town Board members -- like Darcy it is believed -- in Hempstead (or their 4th floor supporters) to be disgruntled by the very public snub.

But i agree with ADA - what an affront to the profession, legal that is, not political since guys like Cairo/Toricelli get the bucks and don't do time.

We are all aware of politics in this area, but why would a Councilmember such as Darcy feel "snubbed" about not being honored at this event? I think that there are bigger things to worry about then a political event that he is not being honored at.

I agree West End, aren't they from the same area? So it is a non-issue.

people complain about Cairo being honored, but these are the same people who honor THE most corrupt attorneys in history: Bill and Hillary Clinton.

I wonder if these posters were among those giving the ex-prez a standing ovation after he declared he would fight and die for Israel?

No one is saying Cairo was right in his actions in the past, but the Dems are even more disgraceful. At least Cairo was man enough to admit his mistakes and didn't see himself as "holier than thou."

This is the same Joe Cairo who stole money from his clients, and is now the silent partner in the Lido golf course money making scam?....he should have gone to jail.....

I don't think his action were worthy of jail time. being disbarred and having to repay someone is a significat penalty in that field.

It's not like violating federal law in loan applications and running for re-election. Accodinging to Newsday, those reallly aren't any big deal. That's ok, right!
