Sorry, but RRK has almost no political pull. If you knew what you were talking about, you would have known that.

Other than Certilman, I would add:

Suozzi Meyer English
Ruskin Moscou

among others

With all do respect, to say Certilman has little political power is wrong.

They don't have as much as they used too, but staill have lots.

Ruskin Moscou is right on the money!!!

Re-read my posts.

I said the Rivkin Radler has no pull.

Certilman still tops the list.

Meyer Suozzi's senior partner, Judge Joe Suozzi, is the county Executive's father; the former managing partner William Cunningham is the CEX's Chief of Staff and Basil Patterson and Harold Ickes of Clinton white House fame are partners who helped rally state and national union support for Suozzi last year. All Certillman has is an over the hill Mondello. PLEASE throw in the towel, this fight is over!

The one that Steve Schlesinger is in.

You watch: the tradtional real estate/powa powerhouises like Certilman, Balin will be matched by DEMOCRAT firms tied into Suozzi.

Rivkin and Radler does have political pull.

In fact, one of it's members is Edward Mangano, the Nassau County Legislator representing the 17th Legislative District and serves as ranking member of the Public Works, Recreation and Parks Committee and member of the Rules Committee, Economic, Community Development and Labor Committee, Procedures Committee and has served on Planning Development and the Environment Committee and the Good Will Games Committee.

According to their website:

Edward P. Mangano, of Counsel at Rivkin Radler LLP, is a member of the firm’s Intellectual Property & E-Business Practice Group.

Legislator Mangano is also a member of the U.S. Navy Environmental Advisory Board, Grumman Master Planning Council, LISTnet Incubator at Briarcliffe Steering Committee, Long Island Software Network (LISTnet).

Prior to joining Rivkin Radler LLP, Mr. Mangano served as General Counsel and Dean of Continuing Education and Corporate Training at Briarcliffe College. Mr. Mangano’s role at Briarcliffe College further immersed him in Long Island’s High Technology economy by developing accelerated high technology training programs, business development seminars and assisting in establishing LISTnet’s very successful high technology software incubator at Briarcliffe College.

Last year, it was rumored that Mangano was being considered a GOP candidate for County Executive.

Obviously, Rivkin and Radler has political pull.

Sounds like an Ad for Ed Mangano.

Good guy though. Heads above Fuschillidope and DeSGrace.

Should be County Leader, but ohhhhh noooooo. Serious sin, being from the town of Oyster Bay.

That just goes to show that you too know very little of what's going on.

RRK has ZERO political clout after losing Jerry Kremer last year. Bill Savino doen't get it and never will.

Ed Mangano may be a legislator, but that too means ZERO in terms of "political clout"

The most "connected" lawyer there is a guy named Tsunis, but he really doesn't bring that much to the table either. His contacts are really much better in Albany and Sullfolk. \

People, the list is

Certilman
Suozzi (gee I wonder how that is)
Ruskin

While there are a few others that can lay claim to some political clout, those are the big boys.

RRK doesn't even appear on the list.

First of all, "Fat Joe" Mondello is no longer at Certillman. He was forced to leave (and lost a LOT of $$$) when Judge Judith Kaye of the State Court of Appeals issued a legal opinion that changed the rules regarding referal cases where members of the same firm served in certain capacities ( refereees and the like). Mondello was LIVID at the ruling and it took him a long time to find a firm to hang his shingle. GUESS WHERE, boys and girls: Benoch , Peterson where his best friend Greg Petersen is a Senior Partner! Additionally, the law firm with the most power in obviously Meyer, Suozzi, English & Kline. To have to enumerate why would insult the intelligence of knowledgeable posters. But the owner of this board should CHARGE firms to promote themselves during this topic thread; its all very self-serving.

Many lawyers assume that Meyer, Suozzi, English & Klein is dominated by Democrats. They are so wrong. Although Tom Suozzi's father, Joe, is still influential, the real power brokers are Republican former County Execs John Klein and Bob Gaffney. Klein and Gaffney are the go-to guys who have the connections and talent to get things done. Hand's down, they are the winners in my book.

you mischaracterize Meyer Souzzi. You forgot about Harold Ickes and Basil Paterson (father of State Senate Minority Leader). State Bar President Thom Levin. Former Smithtown Town Attorney John Zollo.

Judge Kaye & Lippman

Those two really rubbed alot of people the wrong way and there's plenty in the court system who want to see them go. Between the two of them the OCA has become more corrupt than ever - nobody can get a job now without serious connections - the OCA has oversite and hold on tightly to it and has become more of a dictatorship than Mondello and the Republican Club. It's new policies are worse.

First- this post should be on the Democratic board, but on the Republican side it should be -John Ryan- Mondello's counsel and on ther Democratic side it should be Steven Schlesinger -law chair of the Democratic Party
