I thought Pam Greene was running for Supervisor? Isn't Tom Barraga running for Suffolk County Legislature? He was the NYS Assemblyman. Why would he want the Supervisor spot?

Pam all the way! (oy vay)
Cameron Alden would be the best choice.
Cameron Alden would be the best choice.
Pam's got a nicer ass
Alden is a mcGowan ally...NO WAY! Those 2 would work out some sweetheart deal so mcgowan could keep some place in the town. Pam Greene or Chris Bodkin would clean house.
Pam Wins

Islip Elections
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
From the inside of Islip Town:
1. Schaffer can't stand Levy. He is riding his popularity because it is smart. He has no use for Fields.
2. Levy hates McGowan, tolerates Schaffer and Fields.
3. Fields despises Schaffer almost as much as McGowan.
4. McGowan does not like Levy and despises Fields more than she despises him.
Next:
1. Schaffer likes McGowan.
2. Levy likes no one unless he has control of them.
3. Fields likes Bodkin.
4. McGowan likes Schaffer and Withers and McKay and Parrington and Barraga.
Result:
1. Democrats will vote for Parrington, Republicans will vote for Bodkin but many will also vote for Parrington. Some will vote only for Parrington.
2. Bodkin and Parrington get elected.
3. Parrington will NOT support McGowan on ending term limits.
4. Parrington WILL support McGowan on Town Board matters and McGowan will stay In Power for the remaining two years.
5. Schaffer gets jobs in Islip thru Parrington and McGowan, a first for Dems in 35 years.
6. In two years, Parrington will run for Supervisor on the Dem line.
7. In two years, Barraga will run for Supervisor on the Rep line.
8. Fields will primary Parrington for the Dem line.
9. Withers removes Apollaro from OTB.
10. McGowan goes to OTB.
11. Bodkin gets nomination to run for Trunzo Senate seat.
12. Greene stays on Board unless Council Districts are approved and then she may have no district to run from
Unlikely? Lets see if it happens.
Inside Inside

The REAL inside:
1. Shaffer doesn't like Levy but the partnership works.
2. Shaffer tolerates Fields but he can't control her.
3. Levy doesn't like Shaffer but its a good partnership - He has to
support the most popular elected official in the last several
decades.
4. Levy gets along with Fields and needs her for help in Albany.
5. Fields gets along with Schaffer but doesn't appreciate the
"relationship" he has with McGowan.
6. Fields likes Bodkin because they have the same thing in
common...McGowan hates both of them.
7. Fields has no use for McGowan and will chip away at him every
chance she gets.
8. Fields is very popular with her colleagues in Albany and gets
along with other pols on both sides of the aisle.
9. Levy has trouble getting along with both sides of the aisle.
RESULT
1. Parrington is a long shot but probably won't make it.
2. Parrington is too inexperienced to deal with the last 2 years of
the McGowan reign.
3. Bodkin and Flotteron will probably both win which will be good
because Bodkin will fight McGowan every step of the way
with Pam Greene agreeing and Flotteron will follow their
lead.
4. Fields won't have to primary Parrington because he won't win
and because she has no desire to run for Supervisor.
5. McGowan won't finish his term.
6. McGowan will either be in jail or will just fade away.
7. McGowan will leave Long Island because he won't have a job
where he can control people and things and OTB would be
a lacky position.
8. Pam Greene will run for Supervisor. If she doesn't get the
nomination - she will primary for it.
9. Morgo will try to get the Dem line and run against her.
10. Bodkin will look for the Trunzo seat.
These things are more likely to happen. We'll see.....
Fact Not Fiction

First off Ginny Fields is not a fan favorite amongst Democrats.
1. She has went through about 20 Democratic staff members. How many Chief of Staffs have quit on her?
2. She was not asked to run for legislator when her and Lindsey's districts were co-mingled. The Democrats asked Lindsey to run.
3. She has no substance, she just monopolized on on Republican errors. Eventually her constituents will expect her to accomplish something.
4. She will never be Supervisor, she could never get elected townwide. She can win on Levy's coat tails in his area but nowhere else. SHE HAS ABSOLUTELY NO MINOR PARTY SUPPORT.
***Parrington is going to win. The minor party lines will put him over the top. They also give Republicans a choice, another line to vote on, knowing the hard core Republicans won't vote on the democratic line. He is an alternative to flip flop.***
***Bodkin will win and he will actually have to work now. He no longer has a free ride. He cannot ride McGowan's coat tails like he has for 12 years. He may actually come up with an idea of his own, the key word being might. (I know someone is going to have a wiseguy answer to this statement but I have watched him for 12 years and he has rarely ever said anything at a town board meeting, he finally started to sit up during the meetings.)***
***Pam Greene will be finished if councilmatic districts take place because she could never beat Barraga, Alden or even Carpenter in a republican primary for Supervisor. Besides she will never get Minor Party support.***

1- Fields doesn't have to be a fan favorite amongst Dems. She just needs voters to vote for her and they DO! That's why she keeps winning!
2- I have dealt with her office a couple of times and I think the problem is the people she finds. They generally weren't all that bright...at least the one runing for Town Council now - used to work for her - She's a ditz. She was in my son's Connetquot High School class and she was a moron! From what I've heard, Fields lets them go - they don't quit.
3-As far as the Dems asking Lindsay to run...that's an incorrect statement. I followed the redistricting situation and even testified at the Legislature. The lines were drawn with Fields and Lindsay in the district. Fields chose not to run and decided she would try to go for Supervisor. It's the only race she has ever lost...but did really well against McGowan.
4- Word has it that she has no desire to run again for Supervisor-but I believe that if she did decide to run...she'd win. People are sorry that McGowan won. Truth be told..I'd like to see her run again and I think she'd win and she'd be an independent and good Supervisor.
5-I think Fields has substance...She always seems to be on the right side of the issue. She got a Nursing School in Sayville, fought against a guy trying to build in the Bluepoints Co, and has been fightig againste sober homes. I saw her tonight on News 12. She is the only elected official in Suffolk County who is worried about us on the south shore who have been having flooding problems and she is trying to get disaster relief for us. Where are all our elected officials as we swim in our basements? She is there for us!
6-I think you incorrectly used the wrong term...Fields hasn't "monopolized" on Republican errors...she has capitalized on them....and most politicians capitalize on the other party's errors. That's the beauty of a 2 Party system! Most of the time, one party does one thing and the other party tries to do something else!
7-Fields has no minor party support...Good! The minor parties seem to be prostitutes. The guy with the little pony tail who runs the so called "Independent" party....did you read what they said about him? He has no morals and no platform. He goes along to get along and I read that his wife works for McGowan and she did something else with a contract that was a major conflict of interest. Sounds like a party that I wouldn't want if I were Fields. The Conservative Party is run by the brother of the first opponent Fields had...I think his name is Walsh. I don't think they will ever fforgive her for beating their big goofy brother! As far as I have heard, the Conservative Party is in McGowan's camp...As far as her not having minor parties...I guess she doesn't need them, does she??? She manages to win on ONE LINE each time! Since Republicans outnumer Dems...it appears that people are crossing over the lines to vote for her! I know that I did!
7-As far as Parrington...I am not positive what will happen. I beleive that he will lose and maybe that's a good thing. I think whoever wins needs to be experienced so they can continue to fight McGowan for his last two years in office. Anyone winning the position is going to have to be slick and ready to figure out McGowan. Although Bodkin may not have done much in the past, I think he knows his rear end is on the line now and he will have to prove himself. We'll see....

I think Brian is kicking himself in the butt right now if he would have hung around he would have won supervisor.
Plus these elections might be in for a real twist once the FBI reports their findings...oh yeah it been quiet but word on the street is the real deals being worked out arent for governement jobs its to keep government members out of the big house.
Now that's what I call truly insightful. Discouraging but I would bet that you are dead on. Your connections and demonstration of relationships within the town allows you to bear the title SUPERWATCHER! Now my question to you:
How do you keep your projected scenario from playing out? Any views on that? I wouldn 't put past mcg to go Dem to save his soul, it's his only shot now. does Schafer REALLY think that mcg will keep his word? Never has, why start now...even if he does like him?

I don't care who, likes who. Because they're all playing favorites and back room deals for themselves.
The bottom line is when Alden runs for Islip Town Supervisor the residents will back him because when we go to him for help we GET RESULTS. Unlike some others we know....When we call or go to Cameron he talks to us then assists us with our issues. We're not passed over to someone who will "take a message". Cameron Alden has lived here all his life like many of us we all went to high school together too. He knows us and we love him.
Who and what army will succeed him?
Furthermore I wouldv'e glady voted for Phil however the flyer/card arrived the day after the election. Hmmmm.....
Lastly, Pete McGowan kept our taxes down and whatever deals he made with S/W Air was for the good of us all. Mcgowan generated business and jobs into Islip. Mcgowan isn't a bad guy, he's just misunderstood. Like many of us Irish are
Ps. it took 8 days of rain to get the beach cleaned

The vote that really counts is the one the FBI will be sending tothe Justicedept.

PLEASE don't say mcgowan is misunderstood as many Irishman are. I am Irish and to me it's an embarassment to have that poor excuse of a leader associated with my heritage. And if you are misunderstood often, perhaps you should learn how to present yourself more clearly.
alden is a buddy of mcgowan's and I guess you as well being you all went to hs together. Those should be qualifications for Supervisor? I guess it would be for you however, I am sure as a community member who grew up elsewhere (and under 45) I'd get the "take a message" treatment.
S/W deal WAS NOT good for us all.
You said it yourself, "Because they're all playing favorites and back room deals for themselves. "
It will be interesting to see exactly what the FBI turns up on the poor misunderstood supervisor

Let me see what I do not understand. Because the FBI is all over the Fairwood garden apts. raid., pete mcgoon was not able to get a doctored engineer's report!?!?!? Just because the FBI is poking around mcgoon couldn't intimidate, threaten coerce a phony report saying the complex was not structualy sound!?!?!
How could mcgoon allow two reports to come back saying that the complex was sound structually. Mcgoon must be losing his touch!
mcgoon is misunderstood he is a crook and a bully, but he has a wonderful singing voice, and no one understands that!

Did you see the look on Petey's face in Newsday today? Looking at the election tally, it seemed like he was gonna croak. Asked what he thought...his answer "good question."
I say, its about time the dictator has been knocked off his throne. It's a new day in Islip. A day when people can expect to be treated fairly, and not like dirt. The people have spoken loud and clearly - they DO NOT WANT YOUR PETTY POLITICS ANYMORE!
McGowan has single handedly destroyed the Republican party in the Town of Islip. They backed a Democrat rather than the party's chosen candidates. He backs his own narrow minded special interests, instead of the interests of the general population. It took some time, but the people finally saw through your sick selfish ways.
Remove his name from the Islip Airport terminal and put up a name of someone who made significant contributions to the Town - not someone who gave an airline free rent and cart blanche.
And I have saved over 10% in my Town tax bill in the last 12 years because of McGowans greatness - that amounts to about $23.00 (yes twenty three dollars). In return, my streets are in terrible condition, parks are allowed to fall into total disrepair before they getting fixed, snow is allowed to accumulate in sufficient depth to cause accidents on our Town streets in winter. It's a total mess. That shoud be his legacy, what he is remembered for; how he left things a total mess after he left office. He has another two years if he stays, to mess things up a bit more. Knowing his unruly personality, he will probably try his best to do the most damage before he goes.
I can only hope that this horrible person will leave before the end of his term, and take his dimented cronies with him. We need a new day in Islip, a day when you can hold your head up high and say your proud to live in this town again.
It's about time. Congrats to the two winners!!!!
Did I see Joan Johnson with Brian Foley on News 12 the night of the elections? What is her deal? How much longer will she be town clerk? Is she aligned with McGowan? Will she ever lose an election? I think she saw the light when she tried to run for Congress and many Republicans either didn't vote or crossed the line to vote for Israel.

absolutely. all this talk about taxes not being raised is b.s.
building fees, permit charges, all have gone up. "neighborhood improvement" fees totaling in the thousands when you increase "too much square footage " of your addition. where does that money go?
ever hear the words "slush fund"
the money isn't spent on infrastructure, or turned back into the necessaties to run any of the town departments, it's put towards his car rent, bar bil, expense accounts, garganos three story apartments,....
the fire marshall's office and the bldg. inspector were duped into condeming a property that has a lonnng history of non-compliance.
code enforcement- pete's crony was behind it all.
i'm amazed at the stupidity of the timing! the dat before primary elections!
hell if your gonna try and pull strings, manipulate- please use a brain first!
oh wait -code enforcement doesn't have one.
watch for the bullshit pile get heaped upon the pawns in the game.
