The march of sophistry continues in an ad for Anne Murray I saw on Channel 12 today.
Saying that Democrats wanted to ADD an income tax, when they know full well they want to supplant a portion of the property tax with an income tax, not tack one on.
That would effectively end the assessment/certiorari crisis, but it makes too much sense for the Republicans.
The other fraudulent statement is the garbage about "annual assessment increases." Assessments are now done annualy, as they have been done in New York City for quite some time, but that does automatically mean an increase in taxes.
Relying on voter ignorance of complex matters is no way to win an election- especially when you dont have the credibility to solve the very problems you so spinelessly created.

Haven't seen it is it bad?
Its a joke
Are you advocating the institution of an income tax? Let me tell you something...you add an income tax to Nassau County, you destroy it. The only people that won't move the hell out are those that can't. Its a terrible idea.

Many residents now pay more to the County than they do to even the Federal Government, thanks to the lack of any progressive element. I would swap the either the school portion or County/Town/Village portion out of the property assessment mix and replace it with an income tax.
That would mean the end of tax challenges and the incumbent costs, that have TRULY destroyed Nassau.
had enough of repugs
