Nassau: Walker's aide in collision with his assigned SUV
1:41 AM By Celeste Hadrick
The white county SUV assigned to Nassau Chief Deputy County Executive Rob Walker was involved in a four-car accident on Stewart Avenue near the south entrance of Roosevelt Field on the Monday evening before Christmas, but Walker wasn’t in the car.
His special assistant, Kristen DiCerbo, of Malta, NY., was at the wheel of the 2008 Chevy Tahoe, which is registered to the county sheriff’s department, according to the police incident report. County officials say the senior staffer was authorized to drive the vehicle and was returning from a county meeting at Eisenhower Park when the accident occurred at 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 19. No tickets were issued or injuries reported. Walker is driving a temporary replacement while minor damage to the SUV is being repaired, officials said.

This is where Mangano fails to convince that he is serious about cost cutting, you want to set an example then take away you rpress secretaries county car and let him drive to work like the employee making $20K a year. It's bad enought that he has a county car, but he needs an Escalade, not to mention his $500K public affairs staff.
Leadership starts at the top.

I guess not everything that "happens" in Albany stays in Albany.
Are there any moral politicians?

Randy Robbie aka "The Kid" as the TOB faithful know him will make mom Rose proud. What happened in parks that he had to go upstate? The curtain is about to be lifted.
Robbie screwed Mangano campaigners and told certain executive leaders to f*** off when he refused to hire the people they sent to Mangano. Instead, he hired outsiders who not only did nothing for Mangano but can't even vote in Nassau County- he left Suozzi people on the payroll & gave personal service contracts to Suozzi people - again - to people who don't even live in Nassau & he promoted imbeciles. Walker spent more time trying to get his mother re-elected than Mangano yet Mangano won't release this noose around his neck. People HATE Mangano because of how they were treated by Walker - foot soldiers walked away from their local groups because of Walker - and will be working for the Democrat in 2013 - and every minute that goes by Walker causes more and more embarassment while Mangano relies more and more on idiots that are bringing him deeper and deeper into a hole. Not raising taxes isn't enough - he campaigned to FIX the system and make it more affordable to live here. He can go to all the PR events he wants - the 30% who come out to vote in 2013 will not forget how they got screwed. It took 8 years of waiting - and they still got screwed. Bye Bye Mangano - thanks Walker.

You sound like a political hack who owes Mangano his livlihood - must be a relative, a democrat or one of walker's A & T girls. They're the only ones on the payroll now sweating that newsday doesn't call out their unqualified overpriced asses. Political hacks were burned by Mangano - waited 8 years for the repubs to get back in and Mangano sank to his knees and let Walker walk all over the foot soldiers while all the pork went back to the same old republicans bosses who raped the taxpayers for 40 years before Suozzi - too damned greedy to spread it around - still didn't learn. We didn't keep the democrats in long enough. Next time it will be a long long time before these greedy bastards get back in - the second and third generations might grow up and have to - horrors- learn to stand up on their own 2 feet and earn their salaries.

I don't disagree with anything you stated, but do you not see patronage as a corrupt system. I can understand some appointments but the system is absurd, do any Mondello or D'Amato offspring know there are private companies outside of government? Gulotta kept everyone happy hiring 4000 workers than are on the books today, life was good even though he was slowly running the county into bankruptcy.
The issue is that people in the republican party still support Mondello to this day, I have little sympathy for people that lost out because they supported this corrupt machine, you got what you deserved.

Patronage is to some degree necessary to make sure the elected official has people surrounding him that reflect his vision and his policy & has his back - goes all the way to the whitehouse. The president picks his own cabinet. Then its a trickle down - people resign or offer their resignation when they're appointed by prior administrations as a sign of respect to their own party leadership. It happens at all levels of government. Jobs are filled in by supporters who are qualified and interested in working for the new administration as they get rid of holdovers. Local politicians would otherwise have nobody campaigning for them or voting for them in local elections if they get nothing. Not to say a few taxpayers will be voting just because they like a candidate or more often dislike the incumbent but over the years in nassau county fewer and fewer john and jane does even bother going out to vote. The voting is done by political insiders and their family and friends. Next year you will see. The people who were the first to walk into Mangano's campaign headquarters, were also the first Mangano's people stepped on & will be the ones out there now voting for anyone who challenges Mangano. He will not get a second term.

Not felt like. Mangano burned many, many of the little people without high level old guard supporters pushing them into jobs - not because they weren't qualified, not because they weren't interested - but just because they were little guys who could get pushed around without having anyone stand up for them. Mangano accepted their help, and the party took their money. But at the end of the day - the club's lack of integrity came out & they burned those who they could get away with burning. But elephants have very long memories - and the way Mangano treated the little people who helped him out & the way the party leaders dismissed the "nobody's" will be remembered at the polls next year and probably, for a long long time after that. The machine is broken. The soldiers are AWALL.

You are so right, you reap what you sew, as Mangano will learn. That schmuck will never be reelected, he is the worst Nassau Co. Executive of all time.
