Thanks to NCPD HWY . I just want to thank the guy that pulled over my old partners wife with her 10yr old and 3yr old in the car for everything. Just east o f 135 west on LIE. Her husband is in Iraq. You are a punk. This is no slam on all of HWY just that you guys have a scu#%$^@ among you.

The worst is to get a e-mail from my old partner from Iraq about some guy in my own dept. its a disgrace.

Why are you ex-city? Had you left amicably, you would either refer to yourself as "RETIRED" or "FORMER".

What did she do? Maybe she almost ran the cop off the road? Maybe she almost killed someone else? Maybe he cut her a break and only wrote her a seatbelt and insurance card? Maybe you should find out all the facts?

09-07-2005, 10:24 AM
Didn't even say if she got written, just said she got stopped. Ex-city, looks like you're the tool. If you are such a tough guy, go speak to him in person, and post ALL the facts, not just what you heard 3rd person.

So azzwipe, how does a hero like you tune in your crystal ball and know who is OTJ or family thereof? What's your former partner's complaint? Did the Highwayman pull up along side her and she flashed her PBA card and the cop had the audacity to pull her over anyhow? I guess NCPD precinct guys are mind readers and Hwy. are not.

What a jerk that hwy cop is....Gosh...didn't he see the bumper sticker on her car that said she had kids in her car and her husband is in Iraq....what a tool

11-20-2005, 12:59 PM
i heard that if children are in the car, police cannot pull them over. they say it may scar them later in life, and they may grow up hating the police. :x

no problem to pull someone over but dont write something that may bite you in the butt

11-20-2005, 05:57 PM
How about scpd highway that pulled over wife of sgt curtin, nypd, who died on 9/11, and didnt want to see her survivor of shield card, and wrote her? Po oscar meyer weiner...man take away oscar meyer and remove the .....
It it that important you asses? Idiots like you make good cops look like asses. No cop should be rude or disrespectful to a family member unless warranted, and I doubt many wives of cops do not know how to talk to a cop on a traffic stop. Writing a summons for a violation is just wrong. Highway cops should have to turn out of pcts, so they face the music.

Yes he may have been a tool.....or maybe she was an idiot to him. Misfortune in your life isn't an excuse to be stupid. Alot of spouses and relatives are retarded when they get stopped, its from years of being stopped and not getting summons and all of a sudden they are mortified that you have the nerve to question them. Have I ever written a spouse as my blood pressure is going through the roof?..no but thats me I dont blame any cop for writing anyone if they feel they need to. Relatives lie about how cops treat them the same as the other people who get stopped.

There is no excuse for that. NONE, I've had encounters with arrogant, or a*hole spouses and kids, you want to get even you call the cop and tell him whats going on, if someone is showing you a survivor of the shield card, be a real cop and take her attitude.

Maybe it wasn't just her attitude. Maybe she was driving reckless with the kids in the car and he felt that she deserved the ticket to prevent her from driving like that with kids in the car in the future.
Should spouses/relatives catch a break here and there, sure, but not if you are putting your kids lives in danger or someone elses.

Get a grip on that jack... writing her a ticket. Admit the fact that there are idiots on every job(That is what highway is all about). And even if she was rude, disrespectful, etc, let it go in one ear and out the other. Her husnabd died in 911. The guy like others have said was a boss in Emergency Services in the city, as well as a 1st Sergeant in the Marine Corps for over 20 years. He pulled a marine out of the rubble in Oklahoma City after the bombings. Big difference than writing HOV violators on the Long Island Expressway during rush hour. Oh I know, he felt threatened by her and the kids, and called for another highway idiot for back up. Loser rookies, with your nonsense that he had to write her to make sure she would'nt drive like that in the future. Coward, is what he is with his silly boots, and ridiculous hat. Wannabe State Troopers!

I'm not a big writer at all but I've written over several pba cards over the years. It all comes down to attitude. I let almost everyone go with a warning if they're nice.
There will always be a few knuckleheads with cards who take advantage and I think a ticket may stop them from killing someone.

Thing is he isnt a rookie, hes 3-4 years on here, but was a sc park police prior. You may want to laugh at that or not, but hes been a cop for a total of 7-8 years minimum, thats not a rookie, and thats no excuse anyway. A rookie should know better.

WOW, sounds like all the "EXPERTS" were sitting in the car when she got stopped. Knock off the crap, unless you have first hand words from either's mouth, shut up and don't second guess anyone, you WEREN'T there. He's a decent guy who knows what time it is, so I'd give HIM the benefit of the doubt.
As for anyone who wants to bash ALL Highway guys for the actions of 1, you're probably a "Hard Core 5 year Veteran" whose seen and done it all.
To everyone else, STAY SAFE, HAPPY THANKSGIVING !

Thats what happens when someone goes from the academy to highway. and yes 3 years is still a rookie. He also had no prior "police" experience! Everyone should have to do 5 years of patrol minimum

You should go to hell, for stating that her husband didn't die and is still in Iraq.

11-25-2005, 06:31 AM
ALso make sure when the kids see the cop you do the skell thing and tell them " if you not nice he is going to arrest you"

Why, because I corrected you. I was just stating a fact. Like I said, not everyone deserves a break. I remember back in high school, everyone everyone whose dads were cops in Nassau, those kids were the biggest f-ups around, smoked pot etc.. all because they thought daddy would get them off if they got caught. The same goes for a few spouses and family members out there who drive like a-holes.

This story was not meant to be posted on the internet. Someone mentioned it to somebody and that person felt the need to post it on a public forum. I will add this though, the subject of the story comes from a cop family and is married to a cop who is in Iraq. She knows how to act and would never disrespect a cop.

There are two incidents being discussed here, one is a marine in iraq, one is a deceased e/s nypd, you guys are running the two into one

I agree with this, in Sgt Curtins case there are several guys looking for po davey ''oscar meyer''........man, somehow hes maintained a low profile.

It's amazing how many people think they know what they are talking about..... Were you even there?

12-05-2005, 12:41 AM
Maybe if she had SHOWN her survivor of the shield card or mentioned anything about her husband she wouldn't have gotten the ticket

12-05-2005, 12:45 AM
Why doesn't someone ask her exactly how fast she was going when she got pulled over, I know, I was there......... Also, ask her what happened to the ticket... Is it on her license? NO !!! Was it taken care of ?? YES !!!

there are plenty of jackasses that your o so precious tickets can be written to. leave law enforcement personnel alone i've seen it from 2 ends NYPD and Suffolk i'm sure Nassau is the same 95% of the cops do the right thing but 1 F'in A-HOLE can make us all look overpaid jerks like the SUFFOLK SLAP-ASS who HAD TO WRITE THE CUSTOMS AGENT FOR DOING 100 WHILE HE WAS OPERATING HIS UNMARKED W/ LIGHTS AND SIRENS RESPONDING IN TO WORK EMERGENCY SITUATION. we are all law enforcement ALL WE CAN COUNT ON IS EACH OTHER SO LEAVE OUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY ALONE!!!!!!!

retired customs
12-05-2005, 12:03 PM
There is no emergency that a customs agent needs to respond to at 100mph. We have people working24/7 and if he was endangering the public by driving at 100mph, then he desrves the ticket! I don't care if your Mario Andretti(?), you are operating a government vehicle and are at risk of causing a serious accident. Rushing to work for an emergency in a take home car means doing 75mph tops. If he has a take home car then he is responding in a supervisory capacity and will be there after the fact!!!Been there....done that!

Call and confirm there is a ''emergency'' contact his supervisor, but no reason to write him a summons.
