View Full Version : Kim Delvin Returns to Suozzi Land

why
05-26-2003, 07:51 AM
According to press reports Kim Devlin is back on Suozzi's payroll as his campaign advisor. I believe that Kim was the person that helped Suozzi become a real p#ick in the beginning.

Obviousily she has lost her touch as her desire to have Tom visit Buffalo to "lobby" (campaign) earlier this month was ill advised as he stood up 400 senior citizens at their anual May lunch again back at home.

Her return to the scene is another signal that Tom is in campaign mode. Not a good place to be

most pols would love to have 600+ gathered to hear 'em but others leave town--go figure?

the senior luncheon

Not bussed in. The event is held at a hall at the Marriot. these are vendors, community activists, senior groups and the senior of the year is announced there.

Tom sent old man Suozzi to speak and he was a disaster not being a great public speaker. Suozzi sent out apology notes but they did not say where he was. When that got out, well, needless to say the I'll nevers were mentioned.

All in all, Kim has always been a divisive and unloved figure. I hope Tom learns from this boondoggle that he needs 2 terms here before he can lay claim to anything.

Between now and then I hope he appears in some denture cream commercials or finds a drug plan for seniors.

Now that is Poopy Poop.

Speaking of the primary of Dinapoli v. Suozzi---don't forget that the original vote was scheduled for September 11th. It was a sleepy little primary that probably would have gone to DiNapoli. His strategy was strictly by the book and was was to have all the usual primary voters lined up through his organization. Due to the September 11th delay--a lot more Democrats came out to vote--for Suozzi this time-- the so called "patriotic vote" Suozzi's style appealed to the non-organizational voter. DiNapoli didn't plan or expect that and went down the tubes. It was not quite a fluke but the primary election was a sort of anomaly. Time will tell--- but a win is is win even by one vote

PRIMARY COLORS
05-27-2003, 05:50 AM
At the time the vote was held up on the 11th, just about the same number of people had voted that did when it was held later on. Suozzi won because he and Dinapoli were not in the same class as candidates and the Suozzi volunteers worked there butts off while the great zone and AD leaders who supported Dinapoli sat on there rear ends. that's the fact of the matter period.

primary colors is absolutely correct. comparing 10 am on the 11th to 10am on the 25th demonstrated no great difference in turn out. all along the dinapoli camp thought 30-35k ('93 zwirn-kessel) was going to be turnout. all those in the know swore you couldn't make new primary voters (remember they are born not made). in '93 zwirn and kessel spent 400k, minimal if any radio/tv and both focused heavily on north hempstead. even so nh w/ 20% of the county dems only produced 28% of turnout. with both suozzi and dinapoli coming in with million dollar budgets (they would both spend close to 2 million apiece) there was no way that turnout would not be up to nearly double over '93. in the end suozzi won because he campaigned all over the county to people who the dinapoli camp assumed would not vote.

does anyone else remember that she also got fired - or replaced anyway - on the suozzi campaign? but somehow she wormed her way back in. she is bad news. i read a funny comment about her on this site a few weeks ago: read my lips, no new texans!! apparently she is making life miserable for lots of people trying to win these nassau races this year. she talks a lot but nothing ever gets done.

..Didn't a young girl from Kansas with a dog drop a house on Kim's sister? Just wondering.....

Y IS SHE HERE

if she's so bad, how does she keep getting hired? or why is she still getting paid by suozi?

and what did she do that was so wrong?

Does anyone know why she was fired by Suozzi? Was it ever a real firing or did he just get angry off the cuff [as is possible] and fire her but not really mean it.

It was real -
07-17-2003, 06:40 PM
She is only rehired because she gave certain consultants contracts and these firms are respected by suozzi. now out of pity and as pay back for the money they've made on Kim giving them work before 2001, they help keep Kim on the suozzi payroll.

Kim devlin is among the most talentless people in politics.

She claims victory for races she had little do with and is dumb enough to think that the way to make people do what she wants is to bully, belittle and berate.

Everyone in Nassau knew she was back because her ego is so big it got to Long Island before the rest of her did.

It's stunning that she hasn't broken her own arm patting herself on the back so much.

It's even more stunning that Suozzi can't tell from the horrified looks on the faces of all the candidates, legislators and operatives in Nassau that she has got to go.

Does anyone think there's really a chance she'd ever be fired for good? Hasn't she pretty much super glued herself to Suozzi? As far as consultants go, wouldn't their first loyalty be to Suozzi, not to Kim, and if everyone in his inner circle hates her so much, wouldn't they eventually realize this and tell him that she's causing more trouble than benefits to his political future?

Devlin's comment in Newsday about Patton's race being a blip on the radar screen is an insult to the people of the Town Of Hempstead. Hempstead has the highest number of registered Dems in the area and won Suozzi the primary. try and win without us.

Devlin

What is especially insulting is that Suozzi has empowered her to speak for him on these issues. She is the reason Patton got screwed in the first place and now she pretends that "they just weren't paying attention." What the hell is that? Shes got to go.

They probaby don't CARE.

Suozzi has his eye on one prize, being Governor of NY. Kim's only goal is to hitch herself to his rising star and be considered a big shot player as a political consultant, despite her laziness and total lack of interpersonal skills. She is likely the most obnoxious, self centered, difficult, self centered, rude, self centered person on this planet. Patton, Town of Hempstead, legislative candidates, local operatives are of no concern to her whatsoever because she considers herself to be above everyone in Nassau, and probably everywhere else.

Kim Devlin was in Kansas! Could be talking about souzzi in this artical from 2002 cjonline.com.

Moore's then-campaign manager -- Kim Devlin, who was then Kim Hall -- in a recent interview said Kline's campaign was "desperate," "very negative" and involved a lot of "hitting below the belt."

"This is a man who very clearly wants to be in high
elected office and will do or say just about anything to do that," she said.

Devlin described Kline as a candidate who "seems to elicit pretty strong reactions from people," both positive and negative. She said Kline's supporters "really believe in him" and had made him "kind of the poster boy of the religious right."

But Devlin said she thought many Republicans living in the 3rd District were moderates who found Kline's beliefs to be too conservative. Kline lost the race by less than a 2 percent margin.

It's nice that she did so well in helping John Kerry win the election.

What? ..... "W" won?

She needs to go back to Levittown.......(PA)

She will be just as useless here

For heaven's sake, Kerry WON Pennsylvania. Did anyone watch election night coverage?

However, the point about the consultants repaying Kim for her help is absolutely correct. By now, Kim is far enough into Suozzi's lap that she's going nowhere. All she needs to do is feed everyone's ego and she's fine.

Plenty of pols run through campaign staff like water. Look around LI. Give Suozzi points for loyalty.

LOYALTY
11-29-2004, 08:03 PM
What planet are you living on? Suozzi dissed his own club, Suozzi dissed his own party members, Suozzi ran a primary all by himself and satisfied a well known vendetta against his own supporters, he dissed every local democrat in the county of nassau in favor of hiring NYC goons, he sold out Nassau County absolutely and completely and haven't you heard about the hundreds of people on his own staff and throughout the agencies that he himself and his own people have hired, then fired and in some cases even rehired, including rehiring back some gulotta hacks because he started to run out of counties to recruit from. Get with sweetie. Suozzi is the epitomy of disloyalty.

loyalty to Kim.

He's been asked, encouraged, pushed, etc. to jettison her many times by many people and he hasn't done so. All she really brings to the table is ego stroking, there are dozens of operatives that can do her job. Remember he did fire her some time in '01 and took her back.

While she's slammed as a Texan/outsider/non-NC hack, Suozzi couldn't possibly hire anyone that wasn't an outsider. Same as he himself has to run as an outsider/Fix Albany/I'm not from the corridors of power type of politician.

Kim Devlin has been the ankle bitting dog at the beck and call for the last 5 years to the love of her life Terry McAulliff, who is now retiring to his wife and 5 kids in up state NY!!! Except she is now divorced, the once Kimberly Hall, is alone and living on a very slippery slope, with lots of very unhappy Nassau County , taxpayers, and that translates into voters in 2005.
Since Tommy has such a profound relationship with the the great master at the DNC, as per her quote in the Washington Post, one would assume the door prize was Kim Devlin, and Tommy is stuck with her, that is as long as Harold sticks around Daddy's law firm to keep the paychecks coming.

Dirty Dems, Dems the breaks.

Do you really think Suozzi would keep her around if he didn't want to? Does Suozzi do anything he does not want to do? Come on.

Maybe Kim is going to be living with the Suozzi's. His big mansion has plenty of room for her. She can be at his beck and call. Isn't that what she's being paid to do? With taxpayer money, might I add!

I though Kim was on Suozzi's political payroll? How are the taxpayers supporting her.

Plus the house would have to be big to contain those egos!!
