Hip, Hip Horry!

It is about time some higher level of government has taken the interest in and has shown an intent to do a real top to bottom review of all LI school district financing.

I bet that just about every district has some dirty laundry.

With LI's taxes the highest in the U.S., it is about time someone has shown the balls to step up and do something to protect us.

The school system in NY and LI is corrupt on many levels.

Maybe a federal probe will bring some sanity and taxpayer relief.

Horray!

That's HOORAY to you fella.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but if the feds do as good a job "cleaning up" the 124 school districts on Long Island as they have solving the issue that is causing much of the rise in the school portion of your property tax bill in the first place, namely the lack of I.C.E enforcement of illegals on L.I., then we as homeowners are in deep sh-t.

The problem with overspending in L.I school districts lies directly on the shoulders of State Education Commisioner Mills. This is a State issue. Where is our state elected officials in all of this? Conte, Flannagan, Marcelino, do you hear us now?

IS ANYONE GOING TO AUDIT THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT WHO CONTINUES TO UNDERFUND EDUCATION.

This is long overdue. However, by limiting the request for expendiitures of $10K or greater, they will miss much. Abuse is more often under $10K with repeated expenses. They should also view all documents filed for federal and state aid too to see if they are accurate and true.

Can we investigate the rising cost of health insurance and the rising rates of the TRS which is bankrupting school districts, and taking money away from kids and their education.
