Many of us here at Setauket FD would simply like to tell Kevin thank you for your time and So LONG Pal !
It is somewhat ironic that a few azz kissers continue to erase or edit remarks posted here about this guy. Most of our Department is sick of his dictatorship and cant wait for the jerk to ride off into the sunset and into his new role as back row do nothing. This has been a horrible two years of favoritism for his pals, his brother, and others. As Kevin continues to push the Billy Rohr for Chief BS, we here at Setauket cant wait until January 01, 2006. Who will be Chief after he goes is almost an afterthought - just so long as we dont have to deal with Kevins ridiculous BS anymore. Each station has a countdown sheet with the number of days remaining for good ol' Kev, and most are pulled down by him only to be re - posted again the moment he walks out of the firehouse.

Hey, at least he wasn't a do-nothing chief like many others. Not used to the CHIEF doing things and stirring members from their safety branches of how things USED to be done by chiefs? It's about time we had a chief that runs the department instead of one who sits below the radar and is afraid to do the right thing. Sure he was a pain in the a$$ at times, but that only means he was doing his JOB! If everyone liked him and what he did, chances are he's not very effective. Love him or hate him, he takes pride in his work. Lay off his back!

It's not a matter of if i like 30 or not...I feel he runs the department (what we ELECTED HIM TO DO) more strict than other chiefs did... so when things are finally starting to get done, do-nothing scumbags like half the people on here start to cry because they have to -god forbid- do more work than they're used to.
"Wahhh...but kevin...we dont WANT to do work! We want to be do-nothings and mooch off of LOSAP! Why are you making us have common sense requirements and making us get on the rig and why do you want to do the right thing for the department as the chief??" ....Look at how stupid all you complainers sound.
I wish everyone had this mentality of not electing people based on how good of a friend you are with him and instead about how he functions as a chief, putting all personal hatreds aside. All of you complainers are just upset that now you can't go to the BS LP gas training at Yaphank and stand around! To be an interior FF, he made the common sense rule that you have to attend a REAL traning and do work instead of standing around at LP gas! Now you have actual requirements and things are -brace yourself- ACTUALLY expected of you since you VOLUNTEERED to provide a service to the community. Oh, my! What a horrible chief that he would expect a work ethic from his members.
I'll say it again...he's a pain at times but that means he's doing the right thing and not being a kiss-ass pushover crowd-pleaser. Ask the REAL active members (you know who they are- there's 5 at every station...oh wait maybe you don't know who they are because you're never around) and they won't have a problem with 30 the way you complainers do. Once again the hide and seak fakers answer up to criticism of the Yoosi bird. I am active and I cant tell by reading these posts if anyone else is. Maybe I'm missing something - is there a secret area of the web where you can go and find out how many calls a FF or EMT has answered this year? I dont think so. So when you defend Yoos, then claim only non responders and slackers answer up on this site you are FULL OF SH!T ! Yoos is a punk azz, just like his crazy as a F%ck little brother Brian. Brian didn't take a "medical leave" he was supposed to be put on probation for failing to meet his quota in three seperate areas. He then asked for a medical leave, (even though we don't have "medical leaves"), and was told he could have one, but he was also told he would return on probation. So, all the BS aside, it's time for Kevin to get the hell out of here. He is an intollerable human being without a hint of humor or intelligence.

First, I am a Fireman in FDNY, I am not a Volunteer for numerous reasons - for the most part I work a second career and don't have the time. The other reason I am not a volunteer is because any friends in my job that are volley's are always complaining about the BS they have to put with. While I don't agree with anything the "truth hurts" guy has said, I find more fault with the moron wanna be calling himself "transmit the box" and the idiot who calls himself "i love you all". This is why I KNOW you are not on my job, because real brothers don't put things down in writing for all to see that demean any other fireman or any other company.
So shame on the truth for his comments on your Chief and his brother, and even more shame on the box and i love you for taking shots over and over at entire Companies, ("Station 01 scumbags"),
("old geezers who don't respond"), etc. You two punks jump on one guy for his writing indescretions about one or two other guys, then you procede to bash entire groups or companies of men. I don't know Yoos personally but I have heard his name mentioned around the firehouse. I know of nothing bad to say about the man, from what I hear he does his job and provides for his family - just like the rest of us are trying to do. So if you dont like the guy - leave it be Mr. "truth" , as you have said he is leaving his post in four months. As for the two other dopes - you cant make your point by demeaning brothers, and as far as I can see anybody who goes to even one single call at your house and has a positive outlook on what he is doing is a far better person than either of you two big shot responders. I see my reply to truth was erased so i'll re-write one. I do not deny my mental status i actually resemble you remarks but to question my /////////usitari// is ludacris. I have aleways been an active member i'm even on the tech rescue team which means i go to more trainings than I get credit for. I run a Food drive that has raised over 1,500 lbs of food each year. I did take a personal leave and most people would respect me for resigning my position as lieutenant instead of trying to skate for 6 months. I think you should acknowledge these facts. As for my intelligence you can believe what you want I really don't care. I am very aware that my personality make people assume certain things but you should never judge a book by its cover. When it comes to kevin I do not always seem eye to eye with him and most people know that. Half the time i'm the biggest pain in his ass. But if you don't like him it has nothing to do with me. I can respect him even though i don't agree with some of what he does but atleast he's a chief who actually tried to do something. If you don't like me or kevin I think we would both respect you more fo saying it in person i'd probably just laugh at you anyway. and remember brother you're still one of us so I do love you.

Hey FDNY PROUD i agree with alot of what you say but if you knew our departments workings you might understand our posts a little better. To retaliate to outright lies about people touching kids and favoritism by the chief is necessary. Kevin is my brother and you guys know that we rarely get along but like you do in the city i respect him as a chief. its unfortunate that people don't respect thier officers and if you did it on your job you know the repercussions. So i appreciate your opinion but there is alot more to this story

I only just finished my post when I looked and saw that you had answered. I went to see what you had written, from your previous comments on here I half expected to see you curse me out - I was wrong. While I dont understand your specific Department and its problems, I do know that to uphold an age old tradition in the Fire service we must rise above the few people who come on here simply to annoy the rest of us. Probably the best course of action would be to ignore the people who speak badly of others, and to simply talk about something else of due import. If you are litterally Lt. Yoos brother then you have my respect and I hope whatever trials you have encountered in recent times will subside and allow you to be happy and healthy. Keep the faith, but remember when I see you guys ride through my hometown I respect ALL OF YOU ! Not just the Chiefs, officers, etc. because with rank comes responsibility and a greater workload, but frankly its the grunt Fireman who gets the job done ! Be well !

I agree with that but in the volunteer service it's so frustrating and disheartening when you're 20 or so people out of a department of 150 members that have to do all of the work while the others simply coast by in the company riding on our hard working coat tails. I would love to be paid here so that we can actually have members who are here for the right reasons and we can establish some sort of work ethic aside from the 5 members per company that do ALL OF THE WORK! The burnout rate for volunteers is so high and quick because after a while of a handful of us doing all of the work you just get so pissed and frustrated because there's simply no way to motivate the ones who are bringing us down. The only good thing about seeing the same few people is you know who to trust to have your back in an emergency. But, nevertheless the active members keep trudging on hoping that we get some help from the rest of the company who loves what they do here as much as we do...

You post under one name, then a little while later you post under the other name. You continue to mispell the same words, make the exact same grammatical errors, and your writing style is undeniably the same in both posts. It is somewhat ironic that a few azz kissers continue to erase or edit remarks posted here about this guy. Most of our Department is sick of his dictatorship and cant wait for the jerk to ride off into the sunset and into his new role as back row do nothing. This has been a horrible two years of favoritism for his pals, his brother, and others. As Kevin continues to push the Billy Rohr for Chief BS, we here at Setauket cant wait until January 01, 2006. Who will be Chief after he goes is almost an afterthought - just so long as we dont have to deal with Kevins ridiculous BS anymore. Each station has a countdown sheet with the number of days remaining for good ol' Kev, and most are pulled down by him only to be re - posted again the moment he walks out of the firehouse.

While I will not say anything about the Chief, (he did his job - end of story). While in plain view of over 9 members on the fireground - 53 was standing with a Fire Marshall talking about what types of "bad stuff" we were into when 52 advised that he had a guidebook in his turnout coat that they could use. I was beyond 53 and heard 52 tell him that. I watched the Fire Marshall and 53 turn their heads and then watched as 53 ignored 52 - (and the fact that he had a guidebook). 53 then began reading off tover the radio the information to someone else. I am sorry to say that I was very discouraged and very disappointed with Billy at this point. Bill - you lost my vote and my respect. We must all work together, it doesn't matter who we are with on a given day - we have to work together. I watched as you tied up the radio for an extended period of time while a fellow Captain and a senior member continually offered his help to you with a guidebook that could have negated your use of the radio for that extended timeframe. Forget about anyone who could have been injured during the cleanup, and aftermath of the incident, forget that they may have needed the radio for something urgent, you did what you did so people would hear you on the radio - bad move.
I thought all this stuff being said was just BS by guys supporting 52, but I was wrong I watched while you did this, along with seven other guys and 52 himself. So you can have ten people come on here and say it's not true and none of us will care less -

In order to find out what chemicals do when they interact with each other, you need to ask CHEMTREC, which is why Billy was radioing the chemical names to the dispatcher. He asked the dispatcher to call chemtrec, and he did it on the switch down frequency, so there were other radio channels available if somebody was in trouble. But, then again, he did it from the fire area, so if somebody was in trouble, he would have known. Dennis did offer the book to Billy, I saw it, but I saw Billy explain to Dennis why it wouldn't really help. Billy was looking out for everybodies best interest, not trying to sound good on the radio. You f*#^ing idiots have no idea how this place works, or how to recognize a good leader when you see one. Get over yourself! Dennis is mad because he didn't do anything worth while at the fire, so he wants to make Billy look bad. people will vote however they want to, and people see things differently. I know what I saw, I watched 53 IGNORE 52, yes I watched the guy with the high school diploma ignore the guy with two PHD's, one of them in . . . yes thats right folks CHEMISTRY. So I guess you should get your facts straight before you mouth off about things you dont know. All I do know is that Billy has taken advantage of every situation he can in recent times and I dont know that Billy. The guy I knew never would have stooped down to such low levels. While it bothers me that so many good men have come and gone in this place and lost a big piece of themselves while trying to reach the top. I still believe that most of us are decent people with a community minded goal in mind when we respond. I just wish whomever is leading Bill around by his nose would shut up and let him alone. I find it quite sad that our department has come to this point. Discussions that were once confined to the firehouse are now availible for public view. Who you vote for is your business and that's the end of it. I find it very disapointing that people are bashing Bill. I believe he will make a good chief but i'm not quite sure he's ready. I have know Dennis for what feels like eons and he was once a very active member. Over time like many of us he had fallen by the wayside and become quite a disappointment. He has recently stepped up in a big way and shown he is stepping back into his role as one of our more active members. Bill has an tremendous amount of experience from the volunteers and his profession and those can both serve as an asset to us all. His biggest down fall is his ability to put himself under scrutiny. I has seen alot of chiefs come and go and as I look at this years race I am not real sure where to go. I have my concerns with both men. I am concern about Dennis' physical status and I am concern about Bill's disciplines. But know this what I have written here are my opinions, we each get to make our own choices. I hope you do not group what I have written here with those who proceed me I find it very sad that there is a large group of people on here trying to badmouth one candidate. We each have our right to our opinion but don't sit here and badmouth either candidate. Bill is a hard worker and if he made an error, so be it. There is not one of us here who should be throwing stones, we have all had our moments. I myself was not on the alarm but this site has become very onesided. From what I understand both Bill and Dennis made mistakes at this call and hopefully they have learned from them. That should be all that needs to be said.

That's funny...I was at the same fire and no one was ignoring anyone. Just because you have a small hazmat guidebook with you doesn't mean that you know what chemicals do when they react with one another. Yeah, let's rely on that small dinky thing that's been in his pocket when we could radio some of the chemicals found to the dispatcher so he can use a REAL database or chemtrek. If his info was sOoOoOo important he could have made it known if he wanted to instead of pissing and moaning. This is the same guy who didn't want to decon himself or have his gear cleaned before we knew what the haz-mat even was and how it interacted with the other stuff. As it always is on this stupid site - another anonymous poster comes on here and lies about whatever they want without any guts to actually write his/her name. When Dennis ran for 52 he made NO promises to anyone about how long he would stay. Just think about it - who would ? Not to mention that after asking Dennis to run, Nick tried to get others to run as well - that was wrong. Dennis ran, twice, he won twice. He has done a good job and without exception I know he will at very least show up for calls. I also know that no matter what the circumstance Dennis will never quit on anyone and his heart is in the right place. If Nick wants to throw his hat in the ring again - then let him, he'll have as much chance as anyone else. I like Bill, (very much), but he doesn't have the time to run so all this idle talk is just a waste of time. I know both of these guys, (Dennis and Bill), have their detractors but lets face it we all have to work together at some point. I think a lot of guys come on here and run there mouths because they lack the courage to say anything in person or to at least sign their name to it. Bill has come on here and printed his name as do I and a few others. All this constant bitching, moaning and charactor assassination gets our department absolutely knowhere. As it always is on this stupid site - another anonymous poster comes on here and lies about whatever they want without any guts to actually write his/her name. When Dennis ran for 52 he made NO promises to anyone about how long he would stay. Just think about it - who would ? Not to mention that after asking Dennis to run, Nick tried to get others to run as well - that was wrong. Dennis ran, twice, he won twice. He has done a good job and without exception I know he will at very least show up for calls. I also know that no matter what the circumstance Dennis will never quit on anyone and his heart is in the right place. If Nick wants to throw his hat in the ring again - then let him, he'll have as much chance as anyone else. I like Bill, (very much), but he doesn't have the time to run so all this idle talk is just a waste of time. I know both of these guys, (Dennis and Bill), have their detractors but lets face it we all have to work together at some point. I think a lot of guys come on here and run there mouths because they lack the courage to say anything in person or to at least sign their name to it. Bill has come on here and printed his name as do I and a few others. All this constant bitching, moaning and charactor assassination gets our department absolutely knowhere. It is an embarrasment to every one of us and should be ignored. As far as the moron who keeps posting shit about Kevin, F%CK YOU ! You don't have to respect the man - but you DO have to respect the position. He did his job the best he could - so leave the guy alone and let him finish his term with some dignity. I won't stoop to your level and make threats but I sincerely hope somebody finds you by yoursef somewhere and beats the living crap out of you.

That's funny...I was at the same fire and no one was ignoring anyone. Just because you have a small hazmat guidebook with you doesn't mean that you know what chemicals do when they react with one another. Yeah, let's rely on that small dinky thing that's been in his pocket when we could radio some of the chemicals found to the dispatcher so he can use a REAL database or chemtrek. If his info was sOoOoOo important he could have made it known if he wanted to instead of pissing and moaning. This is the same guy who didn't want to decon himself or have his gear cleaned before we knew what the haz-mat even was and how it interacted with the other stuff. Next time, we'll let DM run a scene like that and see how many people get injured or killed. Does anyone remember the major gas leak on 347 that he ran? HA!
As for running JD's name through here, way to be a dirtbag and drag that into here when it has nothing to do with anything. If you MUST know the real situation though, JD wasn't really standing up for anyone or anything...he was pushing Leo too hard and breaking his balls too far in public. It was a whole mess and shouldn't have happened. It killed Bill to step in as Captain and he even talked to JD about it, but guess what HE WAS THE NEXT OFFICER IN LINE....duuhhhhhh. What was he supposed to do? Have there be no captain?
You guys are still a joke. I can only imagine what junior men are on here running their mouths with their vast 2 years of experience being around and seeing how things are here.
