What a joke this department has become, the leadership is a joke and the men coming up the line, ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME!!!! Those are the guys you want leading????? The members should wake up and look around, their the ones causing most of the problems. All the back stabbing and bull shitting behind peoples backs most coming from the chiefs office who can't even get along with each other. None have any balls. There are many good members in that department and some just don't want to get involved in the politics and some just got tired of the bullshit. Your right, there is no leadership and the jr. officers that are running or looking to move up are not your answer because they are the ones that stir up most of the bullshit. The department is to old in its ways and needs a big change. Some of the members in there do some shady things and I wonder if that is the bomb shell your talking about. Its a shame, a few bad apples ruin reputations of a good department.

So what is your name asshole, make fucking sense people, this is a rant board and people do it. For what its worth, most of the shit on here is true and its a way to RANT!!! Departments talk all the time and most spread their garbage to others. I don't give a shit, its quite comical reading the different posts. Freedom baby to post something and not your name, that's what makes this country great. This will stir up shit in a department and that's what some need. If I was a member of a department and someone was putting shit up I would be pissed, and I would talk about it at the monthly meeting. Gets the wheels going!!!

Your right but as long as they keep it to themselves and not show the rest of the members. Not just the chiefs, it goes for all the officers. You need good leadership and you need to follow the chain of command to have have good leadership. Simple rules been passed on for generations so lets hope that's what they do at the minimum. Nothing wrong with a good debate or disagreement.

Go Fuck YOURSELF, you have no clue what the fuck your talking about, step up say whats on your mind, shit I will even fly back up to NY to listen to you run your mouth because I am a member there still and I do know the guys that step up to the plate and are consistent with it everyday. Of course things don't always go smooth when it comes to politics and leadership but one thing for sure I'll put these men into any situation the fire service can through their way and have complete faith and trust. I've been there and stood shoulder to shoulder with those guys including the chiefs office. So if you want a debate, go on over to the fire department ask who wore badge number 379, better yet go on the website it might be posted with my name and like I said I will come on up and have a debate with you any day in person mono to mono and Ill give you a 2 minute head start asshole.. Matter of fact we will compare departments and you can show me what makes your department better, maybe yours is better in some ways but i'll tell you something brother, you won't stack up against Brookhaven when that alarm goes off and when the shit hits the fan because that's where it counts. Does not matter what goes on behind closed doors in a department other than the members. Honestly who gives a flying fuck what happens behind closed doors ever single department has its problems no one department is perfect and every department goes threw its ups and downs so right now brookhaven is in a down. But really who the fuck cares do they get out for all of their alarms, do they know what to do when they are on scene, and can you trust them when the shit hits the fan the answers are YES,YES AND YES those are the true aspects you should care about in a fire department not whose throwing who under the bus becuase when its all said and down i will trust everysingle one of those guys when it comes down to it because they train like there is no tomorrow.

It is sad that the same can be said for too many departments. The membership creates that problem with their by-laws but they are happy with that beacause many are like the little kids at Christmas time in that they have visions of sugar-plums dancing in their heads. The difference is that the visions are of WHITE HELMET's and WHITE SUV's.

The rest only want those in that will leave them alone so that they can do whatever it is that they want to do: softball, bowling, partying OR NOTHING.

So honestly the members can say they are proud of the officers that are in. What do they bring to the table? What's their qualifications? Checking off names at meetings or fund raising my friends doesn't cut it. Lets get that straight!!! Who has big mouths in the department, who runs their mouths all the time. Who has the complaints about them all the time. How come new members don't have any respect, because nobody is showing them the right way and they just act like what they see. That's right no tradition at all!!! You know who they are, one just made it in the first time. Lack of communication!!! Sad!!!
