I got one word for that ---- referendum.
Ed & his buddies are using the County as their personal playground - vintage cars, gambling, baseball - anything else going on appears to be lost on them.

Health Risks Associated With Artificial Turf
There are numerous health problems associated with artificial turf. Many doctors state that these fields should not be used, especially by children.

Lead Exposure The tire crumb base contains a large amount of lead. There are various studies about this and they have come to different conclusions. They current recommendations are that children under 6 not play on these fields, that shoes worn on these fields are not worn into the home and that one playing on the field shower immediately after.

Chemical Off Gassing There are various chemicals that are emitted from artificial turf fields. These gasses are found in higher concentrations during hot weather. These include chemicals that are proven carcinogens. There is considerable debate about the amount of exposure to these chemicals that would be needed to cause cancer but it is generally agreed upon that no one is sure how much is needed to cause future health issues.

MRSA And Other Bacterial Exposure Methicillin resistant Staphyloccus aureus (MRSA), numerous types of bacteria, mold and fungi and frequently found on artificial turf. In fact the manufacturers recommend that the field are frequently sprayed with anti-microbials to reduce risk. These anti-bacterial sprays can be harmful to athletes as well.
