What the heck is the story with fire departments like Bohemia and west Sayville buying John Deer Bucket Loaders? What do they want to play farmer Joe on the side and plow the north 40? There is absolutely no necessity in firefighting to spend the thousands of dollars on them. Why doesn’t west Sayville piss away the money on a piece of equipment useful to tax payers like a boat? It is sad they always have to rely on the generosity of Bayport and Sayville to cover their ass when there is an incident on the waterfront.

O’ Please, ever since west Sayville bent the tax payers off with the extension they have done nothing but go against their word. At the public information meeting it was stated they would not be buying new equipment, since then a new rescue truck, fire police truck, pumper, bus, rack truck, bus and bucket loader have appeared. As for going to commissioners meetings, I have gone 99% of the time they have their secret meeting prior to the public meeting and during the public meeting they blow smoke up your ass. As for the tractor for snow removal, there was no need you are just lazy SOB’s tax payers pay for the housemen to work what’s wrong with the snow blower or a good old fashioned shovel? Had you not built that waste of tax dollars track or as you like o call it access road you wouldn’t need said equipment, Besides ¾ of the time the responding members use the bank parking lot or street same on meeting nights. What it comes down to is you are real generous to yourselves on the almighty tax dollar. On to the almighty wise men that you say I can’t name James. M, Joe M, Gary S, Bill S & Tom M. Maybe the district should wise up and buy a boat instead of pissing away money on stupid items like race trucks, tractors and trailers for the race team. The only thing that the tax payers of west Sayville are lucky about is that there are such generous neighboring fire departments that can cover your butts when you can’t get your toys out

In the cases where some commissioners just go out and spend, without staying within the spending limit on that particular line item. Shame on them, if caught, they will have to explain why. Their is no more "spending at will"., The state does not put up with this any longer, there have been too many cases that the state has HAD to do something about the problems, ie; Lakeland, Syosset, Elmont, the list continues throughout the entire municipal community, not just fire departments. there are new laws on the books now that do not permit a municipality to raise their tax base more than 2 %. In addition, they cannot carry the surplus funds to be placed in the general fund from the prior year. This must be placed in a reserve fund, which gets earmarked for a specific thing. If those funds are used on anything other than that specific fund, the commissioners would be in a world of shit. EVERY DISTRICT GETS AUDITED. The state no longer turns a blind eye. Wake up gentlemen, this is not the 70's and 80's any longer.

The volunteer ambulance services are just as bad, a few years back a certain ambulance company in Suffolk, and sounds like HAYVILLE wrote a grant for computerized pcr’s. This went back before it was popular; anyhow they did not like the product that was out at the time instead of doing a thorough investigation on the products before writing the grant senator Trunzo gave them the money and what did they do? They went out and purchased computer equipment for the building, another time they wrote a bid for equipment for the MCI Trailer this included a computer to keep data. Guess what the laptop never made it in the trailer. New York State needs to police grants a little better it is no wonder we are in the shape we are in

I hate to tell you Junior but I was a member of your fire department and quit and joined another local fire department because I found it completely irresponsible when the siren would go off and the girls would stay on the track playing well the truck waited for a crew.
