View Full Version : FD guys and their buff shirts!
fdshirts

Do any firemen own shirts that don't have some FD buff crap on them? Also why do FDNY guys feel the need to wear their uniforms off duty......we get it guys your firemen. Saw a guy with three years on FDNY wearing his stupid buff shirt to an engagement party. You can go shopping and get some shirts not FD related, its ok I'm sure you will let everyone know you are a fireman without your buff shirt on. The best is the guy with three years on FD was talking about 9/11 till I pointed out in front of the people he was talking to that he wasn't even there. Another FD guy almost knocked him out. I hope that's the last time he claims to be there when he wasn't, its a slap in the face to the people that actually where there. I do appreciate what you guys do, both volly's and FDNY but please get some regular shirts, the 2-3 pagers and radio's you have clipped to your belt will let everyone know your a FF without the buff shirt.

Everywhere you go, shopping, dinner, movies, etc. I see some guy wearing the T-Shirt from his or her job. Ie: Joe's Plumming, Bob's Electric, etc. So why do feel the need to slam some poor schmuck who's only fault in life is that he is proud of being a fireman and proud to work in a job where he/she can help others everyday. Sorry you are such a miserable f-ck and cant see the good in all this.
PS- if both your first and last name start with the same letter then you should just shut up already!

This guy pegged you guys perfectly he just forgot to mention the prototypical fire hero chief with the keg sized belly and the bowling ball sized head framed by the ever important handlebar mustache they must get that issued with the chief mobile. Then they proceed to ride around the town like they own it. Well with all our tax dollars they are putting into their fat keg belly's maybe they do own most of the town.....dumb handlebar mustache fatso and to the dumb ass above its spelled douche you douche!

The best is the same guy as the chief description in above post but could never make it to volly chief. Instead he gets the fat belly handlebar mustache and buys a red truck decked out with all the emergency lights as a personal vehicle. It really is sad, someone vote this poor slob in as chief. Obviously the tonka fire truck as a kid was not enough for this guy. Every vollly house has a few of these guys. Blows the kids college fund on a few hundred strobe lights for his red truck.... dumbass. Meanwhile his volly "brothers" are sleeping with his wife. So sad

Saw a guy in Massapequa with a red Durango he must have at least 10k in lights on his personal vehicle. Another wannabe chief that just didn't make the cut. Dumb buff probably can't even buy a jar of peanut butter for his family but can trick out his personal car like an emergency vehicle. Oh well there is still free beer at the firehouse. With all the tax dollars you get from us why do you guys need to send out those envelopes for donations, probably to pay for the lights on your buffed out cars and a department wide cruise ship vacation. Pack up the volly fd shirts we are going on a cruise.

You are an asshole. Go screw yourself. You probably couldn't pass the physical to be a firefighter. Sit behind the computer asshole because when it comes to doing the job you are a total loser. BLOW ME.

You must be the guy with the red Durango. If my toaster does go on fire I just unplug it and let it cool down instead of you buffs showing up and spray water all over my entire house turning my drywall into mush. Plus I don't want you hurting some innocent person while you drive the wrong way in traffic. If you had more professional training like we have in FDNY then I might call you. When I first moved out here from Queens I actually went to join a Volly house but I could not believe the stuff that went on. Let's jump in the middle of traffic with water jugs to rob people of their money all in the name of fund raising.....then the wall to wall Italian granite in the firehouse was better than the Taj Mahal. I also liked the leather theatre seats that cost $2500 a pop and there were 10 of them. I could go on and on about the wasted money. I had an uncle that was a volly and he was disgusted with the money spent, he told there was a time you guys were happy with a simple bar and free beer. Now these firehouses look like palace's.

Looks like you're on the outside looking in. Thanks for supporting our training in Niagra Falls. The airline tickets, hotel, rent-a-car, and expense account for meals made the training worth while.

Training in Niagara Falls, no, how about the conventions I attended numerous times in Las Vegas, (Strippers and ho's included), Orlando, (Mickey and Minnie included), or any of the other venues recently utilized for our conventions. I've been doing this for almost thirty years you dopey f-ck! So go ahead and try to put a stop to it, It's a little late though. I've had mine! Thank you by the way, I'm certain I utilized your tax dollars to the best of my ability! LOL.

I don't care if you guys wear your buff shirts you deserve it after this week. Between you guys and the Police Dept you all did a great job and I'll never criticize you guys again. It started out as a stupid joke about your shirts and then a few other people chimed in but you guys were great during the storm and wear your shirts with pride. Just be safe guys and my apologies go out to you.

I am a vollie; Fire and EMS, don't drink, don't wear FD shirts, train like the dickens both fire and EMS again. Our department has 3 ambulances and we can get all three out with no problem. Don't paint the entire service with such a broad brush.

Actually, a paycheck is EXACTLY what makes you a professional.

ACTUALLY !! If you had bothered to check a dictionary or had used a thesaurus (I am giving you the benifit of the doubt that you are able to do either or both), you would have found the following:
expert, specialized, qualified, proficient, skilled, trained, practiced, certified and licensed. NO WHERE did it said "paid"

What would you expect from a paid skell from Garden city? actual research? there are many volunteer fire departments on the island that can run circles around the paid stooges from Garden City.

ACTUALLY - If you google the word "professional" it comes up as a first definition - "a person who is PAID to undertake a specialized set of tasks and orchestrate them with uncommon skill"
Sort of like the difference between amateur and professional in sports.
Being an amateur does not make you less competent, it just means you don't get paid for it.
I liken it to the difference between a profession and a hobby. The hobbyist might be just as good but he doesn't do it for a living.
