I am embarrassed as a Democrat and Woman that Ginny Fields got our party's nod for the Fifth Assembly District.

She has the most filthy mouth of any Woman running for office that I have ever heard speak. And she is very bitter, still, about the stupid antics of Pete McGowan during her failed bid for Islip Supervisor - she's become a one trick pony! In the several times I have heard her speak since losing and gearing up for the 5th AD race she always talk about it - like it gives her the god given right to be the our candidate for the Assembly!

By acting as she does, she insults women everywhere worse that McGowan ever did! I for one am hoping for a good Independent choice - or I might even cross party lines on this one.

Isn't that funny????? I went to the Wendy's Grand Opening the other day and McGowan was there and so was Ginny. She wasn't bitter at all. She spoke nicely. And surprise of surprises...McGowan spoke kindly to her - and about her. She's not a bitter woman- She's running for the Assembly and doing what any woman should in an election. I'm proud of the way she conducted herself through all of the namecalling that McGowan kept repeating. Some women wanted to start a "bimbo club" because they were proud of being affiliated with Ginny Fields and against McGowan. In fact, Islip Councilwoman Pam Greene even quoted to the papers that McGowan was way out of line. It wasn't that Ginny was bitter...all women were bitter - including me as a Republican woman! Ginny's simple comment after the election that McGowan's statement was "typical" was a classy remark from a classy woman who has been both a Rep and a Dem.

How convenient is it that everytime someone has something to say about Ginny Fields, there is "someone" who was at a recent event that Ginny was at and saw her and how classy she was and than happens to know the whole specific history, dealings and life of Ginny Fields including her appearances, past quotes, and people who spoke out for her and many many other things that people do not usually know unless they are 1. Stalking Ginny Fields or 2. ARE GINNY FIELDS. Ginny, again, give up. These posts make it so obvious it is you. You are very pathetic. You are not an honest women, you have stolen from your campaign contributors and you have a past (and present) that is so damn shady and corrupt, you belong behind bars right next to Freddie Towle.

Standing next to each other there is no comparison.

You are incorrect. Ginny came to my door in Holbrook and quite a few of my neighbors. In fact, my friend told me that she was at a get together in the area where there were a lot of women and they all loved her. At my door she had no problem looking me in the eye. She's my choice...no rheteric...she is someone who is experienced and doesn't misrepresent herself. Peters went to my friend's door in Sayville saying SHE passed legislative bills. That's impossible - since she has never been elected to any position. Working as an AIDE is not the same as serving as an elected person. Maybe she has trouble looking in your eyes for a reason!

Its true, Peters has been going around saying SHE passed legislation while she was an aide to Norman Levy. Its obvious that she doesnt have her own record to stand on. Ginny has done incredible things for our community. She deserves this seat, and I believe that she will win it.

I've worked with Ginny for 10 years and I've never heard her utter anything that could even remotely be considered foul-mouthed. If you have other axes to grind, stop the cowardly and anonymous attacks and bring it to the gutter where they belong. Here's another suggestion, when you make an argument - have a point!

I’m a registered Republican, but I consider myself to be a pragmatic Republican. By that, I mean that I look for the right person for the job regardless of party label. In these trying times - when local and school budgets are stressed to the breaking point, when national security has local implications and when our local and school taxes are an increasing burden – I choose someone who has direct legislative experience and a proven track record of results to be my representative in Albany. I choose Ginny Fields.

Ginny has been a two-term Suffolk County legislator whose accomplishments include working in a strong bipartisan fashion to fight for the things that she felt are right for her constituents.

Let’s not forget who we’ve elected for this position in the recent past with successful results. Paul Harenberg and Steve Levy (who we’ve just elected to by our County Executive and who is committed to working with Ginny for our mutual benefit) and now the choice is for Ginny. Let’s keep our successful streak going and pass the torch to the most capable person for the job.

Let’s take the opportunity to choose Ginny Fields as our representative in Albany so that she can continue to champion our rights during these tough times. It’s not the time to take a chance on a political unknown.

I read an article this morning where the Republican chairwomen has dredged up a 30 year old incident regarding Ms. Fields. It strikes me, from the article, that the Republicans are in a mud-slinging mode this year. I don't see the problem with a woman standing up for her husband in a tight situation. Eileen has said that due to the unreal tax burden it's very expensive to live in the area. She was concerned that when she retired she may be forced to look elsewhere to settle. She also sees this as a major problem for her children and now her grand-children.

It's a prime reason she's running - we're being taxed to death and something has to change. Eileen wants to be a part of that for the benefit of every regular person.

My husband and I became angry when the numerous phone calls kept coming telling us to vote for Ginny Fields. For several days before the election we received countless calls with a taped endorsement by Steve Levy. We have always liked Steve Levy but these calls were most annoying. On election day the calls were LITERALLY coming every few minutes. When I called the Fields headquarters to ask them to stop the calls, I was informed that it would be impossible to stop these calls. I was told that all the volunteers placing these calls had the same list of names to work with, and it would be impossible to reach all the volunteers. I am amazed that the people placing these calls repeatedly were not organized, or respectful enough to call each household once, rather than harassing the same people over and over again. Steve Levy's endorsement of Ginny Fields may have helped her image, but unfortunately, her campaign tactics did not help his image.

I have no reason to twist words Oakdale. Having been a neighbor of Eileen Peters for many years I've heard her complain about everything from the children to weather on Long Island. She and her husband hated every aspect of Long Island life. That is of course until she decided to run for office.

Pat Acampora's and Eileen Peters' vicious attacks on Ginny Fields backfired. Fields has a reputation of working hard for her constituents and they didn't let her down. Acampora and Peters should be ashamed of themselves and I'm sure they are. They didn't learn from McGowan's comments or Grucci's - will they ever learn? I hate to say "I told you so" - but Fields won with 58% in a highly Republican district.

Then we had Grucci talk about Bishop being "soft on rape" and obviously, he lost the race and Bishop won. Then we had McGowan say "We beat the Bimbo...and never apologized. Then we had Acampora/Peters try to drudge up stupid irrelovent garbage that had nothing to do with Fields - the result was that negative campaigning DOESN'T work! In case you are unaware how the State passes legislation - allow me to enlighten you. A State Senator needs an Assembly co-sponser to bring a bill up for a vote. The vote in Sayville that did in fact impact positively on our taxes was introduced and co-written by Senator Trunzo. The Senator brought the bill to Ms. Fields for a co-sponser, period. She was smart enough to recongnize a good Republican intiative and hooked on the coat tails - something she's done her ENTIRE career! (can anyone say Levy factor in her recent ascension to NYS Assembly?). There isn't one decent piece of legislation Ms. Fields has passed worth a lick since she got to Albany - not one.

Without Fields, Trunzo couldn't have passed it. It doesn't matter who writes things in Albany - usually the lawyers do. If you think Trunzo wrote a bill...you're out of your mind. He probably doesn't even know how to read them. He depends on his staff and doesn't usually even know what's going on around him. He doesn't show up at anything...but I see Fields everywhere. She knows what her people want and need and she's there for us. I can't think of a better representative for me in the state..someone who understands and is working for the people.

What exactly has Assemblywoman Fields done for us in Oakdale to stem the out of control flow of tax dollars to Albany that we do not get back? She is a member of the majority up there, and I only keep seeing increased aid to City schools and my tax bill going up, and up and up.
