I just heard that Councilam Troiano has an illegal rental, he got caught and the effort is under way to cover it up. If this is true, he should be ashamed of himself and any one who helps him should be investigated too . . .
For the first time in my life I am ashamed of my party and its leaders . . .

Here go the Repubicans misleading people again. Troiano has a LEGAL two family home. (where he lived for many years) He now rents it to two families and lives in another location. He should have filed a rental registration form with the town. He failed to do that. It's now filed and the house is in full compliance. End of story.

Newsday reports 4 violations "alleged" by Moroney. The entire tone of the artical was politics. Why? Because that's exactly what it was. The NH republicans have always run their campaigns on exaggeration and lies. Things like the Dems raised your taxes 150% or that it is the worst run town financially in the state. This is more of the same. This was nothing but an oversight. He has owned this house for over 20 years, well before rental registration laws. This was about a piece of paper that wasn't submitted. A little bit absent minded? Yes. Criminal? Not anywhere close. Luckily, we have a very well educated electorate in North Hempstead who can see the BS a mile away. Need proof? Look at how well the republican campaign rhetoric has worked over the last 15 years in the town. That's all the proof you need.

. . . usually mean there is an exposed nerve. So sounds the defense of "not a fan at all." I suppose that the DA will monitor the matter. But, as the old expression goes, "ignorance is no defense" or is it "ignorance is bliss?" Well whatever fits.
File a paper????? when? after a fire that caused $60,000.00 worth of damage? That is not ignorance. . . .that is not mere "negligence" it is gross negligence.
And you are foolish to believe that such an egregious matter ends with the filing of a piece of paper . . . 10 years after it was due . . . .

We have prided ourselves of being better than the Rep's. This is more of a betrayal of us than anything else. We gave this guy our money, our time and our trust. And what does he do? He gives the other side an issue, loses his own credibility and smears us all with a weak "everyone does it" defense.
Yikes . . . power does seem to corrupt abolutely.

Left over republican flunkies in the town of north hempstead building department feed this info to republican council candidate Moroney, Dan Lomonte who had headed the permit division feed this to his fellow westburian after brainstorming with some of his other pals in the department and HQ.
Frank M. was a major sponsor of Lomontes failed bid for westbury fire commissioner so a favor was done in return, this is nothing new in politics.
It was only a couple of short years ago the Dan was MCing Maureen O'Connells gathering at 'Briand on Old Country rd.
Maybe someone should see what happens before 9 am when Bob Bonnie comes to town hall two to take care of business for his clients and who is there to help him?
These old friendships run deep.
Dan and Tom should watch who they brag to because people love to chat in government and this was too juicy for anyone to keep secret.

The Dems have been in charge of North Hempstead since 1991. By my calculation that is 14 years. 14 years ago GWHB was President, May New Berger was a Town Councilwoman, along with Barbara Johnson, and Tony Durso. Then came Wink, Dwyer, Pollack, Fabio and all the rest.
The Dems have been in charge of everything in this town and have controlled all the levers of government for all those 14 years.
To blame the GOP for the problems in this town is absurd in view of the choke hold the Dems have had on the gvernment of this town.
The Dems own it, if they want credit for all the good, they must also assume the burden of all the bad.
