OUTRAGED IN RVC

Newsday today has Mayor Eugene Murry saying he will help pay for funeral of Terrance Thomas. Terrance Thomas died while under arrest in New York City.

Mr Thomas was arrested after a Police Chase in the 105th precinct, he wasw driving erractically, failed to stop for the NYPD, had a suspended license, and was suspected of swallowing crack coaine to conceal it from the NYPD. He died early the next morning in a holding cell in the 105, after violently resisting Police officers who attempted to remove him the holding cell.

So Mayor wants to help the drug dealing, Cop fighter, who was running from the NYPD witha suspended license.

IS it just me or should he pay for it himself instead of using ANY Village funds!!!!!!!!!!

Eugene must be related to former NYC Mayor David Rinky Dink Dinkins who during his term paid for the funeral of a drug dealer.

No wonder the cops hated his guts.

disgust or showboating

is this skell (mayor) doing this cuz he supports drug addict skells who resists cops or doing it to get the skell vote in the RVC housing developments?????? and amazing, how all of these peeps is good (cuz they babies mama always say that) when a day or 2 later, they have a rap sheet 6 feet long? ya wanna showboat, go to broadway. whats next helping to pay costs for an illegal alien who dies here? this mayor sounds like an a$$hole.

Sadly, respect for the NYPD is falling off, again. Prior to 9/11, the Police were being ridiculed in general and were easy scapegoats for others problems. It seems that the sense of pride we held in the impossible job done by the NYPD, FDNY, Port Authority and vast #'s of other agencies is not any longer the case.
I have not heard concern for any Members of the NYPD who were hurt in Mr. Thomas's arrest. I have not heard the Mayor of RVC make an offer to help these underpaid Civil Servants, who can not work their second job to support their family.
Mr Thomas made some bad decisions the night he was arrested. If he had been acting in a reasonable way, he would never have encountered the NYPD. If he had merely pulled over he would have been arrested and been out the next day. He chose to drive errractically and violently resist arrest. Prior to arrest he chose to ingest crack cocaine. How many people do you know who run from the Police? Resist arrest? Drive without a License? Smoke crack cocaine?
The Mayor is ignoring all these facts which are reminiscent of David Dinkins, paying for the Funeral of a Felon killed by the NYPD. Why should anyone take responsibility for their actions when the Mayor of RVC, will take care of the Felon's financial obligations. THIS IS A SLAP IN THE FACE OF EVERY MEMBER OF THE NYPD.

Your time is done Mayor, Your poor choice is anti-union, anti-blue collar, anti-police, and it is just wrong to facilitate this by giving money, not your money I noticed, but money from the community fund.

he isn't using Village funds, either. The funds are a community charity.

Sounds like Lyyynbroook Trustee Davve Penszo. His best buddy is Pat Cox indicted in Florida for fraud on an elderly widow as well as stealing tools booze and 4 guns from her.

What is it with these people who hold the public trust and then back these criminals.

I have been told the Mayor was misquoted by Newsday.

We will wait and see, what the truth of the matter is.

I do find it hard to believe he would support any ANTI-POLICE cause. Like I said we will see what happens, time is on our side.

How has the mayor treated the RVC police in his past dealings?

knowing the full story would be an impediment to posting on this board. The requirement is that you have to know nothing, but feel no restraint in expressing an opinion anyway.

I believe the Rockville Centre Herald August 4-10, 2005, prints a story on page 11 written by Jaquie Raith, about Mr. Thomas.
Unlike Newsday, it seems to present many facts about the arrest and Mr. Thomas(his arrest history, his family life and where he lived) that Newsday did not deem important.
I apoligize, to the Mayor Eugene Murray of Rockville Centre, for starting this BLOG. After reading the Rockville Centre Herald I can see that I jumped to a conclusion based on the Newsday Story of Mr thomas on 7/31/05. After reading Newsday (which I assumed was true) I apparently was wrong. I am sorry for wrongly suggesting the Mayor was ANTI-Police, anti-union, anti-blue collar, and also alluding to, that the Mayor was insensitive to the Police / Fire Deparment concerns after 9/11.
I can only hope my effort here will correct any misdeed I have performed. My invovlement in Village politics has been limited to voting and I will now return to being not involved in Village Politics, and lastly say I am sorry Mayor Murray.

Good Step

I heard that Murray and his band of thugs are looking to shut down a fire house on the south side of town, and he's a fireman,..nice move Gene,...I hope there isn't a fire call when you do that and kills someone

repetitious

here we go again. Another know nothing heard from. And, we wouldn't have any idea of what position this moron has, based upon his description of "thugs". The level of discourse on this board has declined from moronic to defamatory.

Stop wetting your pants - your fireman are just babies - we don't need another firehouse (or should I say hidden bar). There are too many
