Wrong...each town has its own team and county has a decon unit.

Wrong: Not every Town has a team. The County has a team primarily made up from SCPD Emergency Services officers. The Decon Strike Team s comprised of a multi-jurisdictional support team (FRES, Sheriff, SCEMS, DPW, SCPD, Health Dept., etc...) and supports the efforts of all HazMat teams across the County.

Hicksville FD has a real good Hazmat unit in Nass Cnty. Smithtown has no HazMat Team. Brookhaven has a good team made up of Fire Marshalls. The Town of Islip has a HazMat Team, which is a division of MacArthur Airport Crash Fire Rescue. I am not entirely sure, but i beleive the CFR guys respond with the truck while the team arrives at a scene.
