You guys must confine your knowledge base to what's written in Snoozeday (Newsday); The County and Brookhaven together paid barely 5 mil for 40+ acres of historic property overlooking the sound on the bluff - which is now preserved from development for eternity;

WOULD YOU PREFER A DEVELOPER HAVE PURCHASED IT - TURNED AROUND AND FLIPPED IT INTO NUMEROUS HOUSES FOR 10'S OF MILLIONS - AND NOW HAVE THAT MUCH LESS PROTECTED ACREAGE FOR OUR KIDS?

The Chandler estate was a steal - and the whole story was nothing more than a fabricated witch hunt on the part of Newsday for the sake of selling more papers - there simply was no story there!!
