because of the possible C primary from Spinola; Tom MCkevitt will run in her place. 40 years old is better than 77.

Thank God for MKichael Fiechter!

I don't know that Joe Spinola gets the R line, the D line or the I line but he's tough to beat in a C primary.

Why did Spinola leave the bench? Any issues there?

In the past, conservative shills ran a spoiler races to obtain judgeships or hold onto appointed positions in Democratic administrations.

The Spinola rumors make little sense because Joe Spinola already obtained the prize, not one but two judgeships -one secured as a Democrat and another secured as a Republican - and neither were good enough for him. Spinola gives up a $140K a year job for one which pays $38K? Is he smoking crack?

A Spinola candidacy on the Democratic and Conservatives lines would be a joke. Why would anyone take such a candidate seriously? It would not only be the end of Spinola, but Jacobs as well. The era of Dem/Con deals in Nassau County is one which hopefully has ended.

While a Spinola effort would like be a fool's errand, it would show that Donovan -- good guy that he is -- really isn't up to the job. He seems confused and is frankly incoherent at times.

It's all about the primary on the C line, if it actually happens. Nuthin' else matters. The rest is classic inside baseball. Spinola wins the C, he wins the seat. Norma or her replacement wins the C, that person wins the seat.

cant hack it

Maybe he cant hack it as a Judge - it does require a minimum of knowledge, a little bit of skill and quite a bit of work.
