Cunningham says he's the "real" suffolk democrat. I find this interesting since he's never done anything in suffolk democratic politics.
He also says Levy is too far right. Unlike the Republicans this party goes from Zel Miller to Howard Dean, all inclusive.
Ask yourself this fellow Dems:
Would the real Dem. have press conferences with Rep. budget people?
Would the "real" Dem. be so buddy buddy with the likes of Al D'Amato that in an interview Al can call him "Billy"?
Would the "real" Dem. have the press goinr to John Klein, Rep. CE, for positive quotes?
Would the "real" Dem. support a policy (hiring halls) that undercuts good paying jobs, union or otherwise?
I don't think so. The real Rep. insider in THIS race is Cunningham

a "real" Democrat and a "real" Republican hug, kiss and slap each other on the back as Judy Jacobs, Skelos and Suozzi did yesterday before, during and after their JOINT press conference regarding the Sewer Authority. Would "real" Democrats and "real" GOPers even have a JOINT press conference. Would they each announce that they didn't get what they wanted, but "THEY" ALL compromised??
WHAT is a "REAL" Democrat"? WHAT is a "REAL" Republican"?? ENOUGH WITH THE LABELS ALREADY!!!
"REAL" people who want to make a difference and their respective qualifications is the way to select a candidate, a legislator and judge, etc...DON'T BE SO BLIND AS TO VOTE SOLELY ON THE BASIS OF PARTY LINE. . . IF YOU DO THAT, YOU'D MIGHT AS WELL GO TO NICARAGUA!!!

for someone who decries "labels" why do you sign on as "NassauGOPer"?
And what people do jointly as part of their duties as elected officials is completly different.
and by the way, I'm talking about a "Democrat" primary...duh!

You are comparing Steve Levy to Zell Miller?

---Would the real Dem. have press conferences with Rep. budget people?
there is no such thing as rep or dem budget people. ther are smart financial people and unintelligent financial people. cunningham stood with two VERY INTELLIGENT men and explained exactly what it would take to turn around our budget problems.
---Would the "real" Dem. be so buddy buddy with the likes of Al D'Amato that in an interview Al can call him "Billy"?
yea, they must be real buddy buddy since he called him by a nickname that almost everyone who talks to him uses. did it ever occur to you that they may have met before? you must be against all bi-partisanship...
---Would the "real" Dem. have the press goinr to John Klein, Rep. CE, for positive quotes?
how about kleins responsibility as cunninghams boss for 15 years? maybe they interviewed him for his knowledge of cunningham in that capacity.
----Would the "real" Dem. support a policy (hiring halls) that undercuts good paying jobs, union or otherwise?
if steve levy cared about unions he would a)have more endorsements, and b) have used a union shop to print his campaign letterhead and signs which dont have a union bug.
the hiring hall is a public saftey issue. that is all a county exec can do with that situation. how about levy, the great legislator do something about it instead of crying about how its affecting all of these things.

there is no such thing as rep or dem budget people -
really!
tell that to arthur 'supply side" laffer. of course there are. to say there aren't is to be blind to reality. if it makes you feel better - why is he having press conferences with "Gaffney"s" budget people. It's a sign that he plans few changes.
"you must be against all bi-partisanship"
absolutly not. but that type of familiarity DURING a campaign says alot about BC being one of the good ol boys. and in this county that means republican!
"how about kleins responsibility as cunninghams boss for 15 years"
exactly my point. he's too close.....in bed with the republicans. do you seriously think he's going to challange his old boss as well as the new partner, Gaffney, if he wants to go back there some day?
"if steve levy cared about unions he would a)have more endorsements"
and the unions don't go with the establishment candidates? Islp unions have, to my knowledge NEVER endorsed the Dem for Sup. and whine all the time about being screwed over. sometimes people don't vote (endorse) their own best interests.
"the hiring hall is a public saftey issue"
that my friend is pur BS. with enough police patrols you wouldn't have hundreds running into the street. it's about the rule of law. you maybe happy to pick up the cost of lost tax revenues because neither the worker or employer is paying their share of taxes.
pay a visit to a county health center. that's were these employees go when they get hurt on the job. and the taxpayer, which they and/or their employer are not.
I find it interesting that Cunningham will remind everyone he was a former procecuter while endorse the breaking of numourus state and federal laws.
if you want vhange in suffolk Cunningham is NOT the person that's going to bring it........but he's better than Roamine. always have something nice to say

Q: What is a real Democrat, IslipDem?
A: One who will pledge to support the party's nominee, regardless of Tuesday's outcome. NOT someone like LEVY, who said on Ch. 21 that he doesn't think he can support the party if he loses. Instead, he intends to stay on the ballot and run AGAINST the Democratic Party.
Why? (1) Because he's not now, nor ever was a Democrat, (2) The only thing he could give a damn about is his own resume.

Levy is planning to run on his third party line (anti-corruption) if he loses Tuesday and the moment Rich Schaffer denounces him for it he will announce he is switching to Republican party. He has already told Baranello and other top advisors so that they are prepared.
no great loss, he never was a Dem and he'd be handing the election to the Reps, not that they need handing, they've got it in the bag

RealDem, That's great inside info.
But if Levy loses the primary and runs on his independent line, could his ego withstand getting just 5% of the vote?
He should give the Stop Corruption line to Liberal candidate Jordan Wilson.
With two lines, Wilson will be a credible force.
