Its not insane. Alot of us gopers who got thrown under the mangano bus in favor of the democrats and holdovers figured early on mangano and walker cut themselves nice little deals with the democrats going into this. no other way to explain their protectionism - especially in places like the county attorney where it was expected 60-70 jobs would have been cut in the first 2 weeks and filled with mangano supporters - like suozzi did when he came in and brought those city people with him. right then and there we smelled something and it smells worse and worse every day.

Marigotta and Sprague built a EMPIRE though serving the Residents of the County. They built the infastructure and facilities we have today. We have paid extemely high property taxes since the 60's compared to the City. But City People kept moving here because of services and crime rate. The City was Liberal with drugs and crime, our Politicians and Judges weren't.

Decisions then were simple, was it good for the People! How would it effect the local? The Township? And County? Builders love to develop land, the Unions love it, and many of the local Mom and Pop's got extra income.

The TWO MAIN reasons for the downturn is Gullotta being unable or unwilling to raise taxes. And PRESSURE not being put on TOP Administrators in TOH and TOB to move over to the County.

The County still needs educated expierenced Management with institutional knowledge of their Departments. Many of the Town Commissioners went from the County to the Towns. Now is the time for them to return and help the County return to greatness.

The County Executive doesn't make the County great, it's the Employees and their Commissioners who do! They interact with the Residents, they teach, train, and coach the Children. Help the Seniors, Handicapped, and Poor. Even our Roads are falling apart now!

The Republican Party cannot count on Consulting Firms, it is just too costly and they have NO LOYALITY. It has to be though Leadership. Do a top to bottom sweep of the County. Eliminate things that aren't needed or don't work anymore. Museums and Perserves, how many people visit them? If they aren't being utilized by the Residents, do something else with the Property. How many Residents visit the Old Bethpage Restoration V illage? There are hundreds of acres there, maybe use for Quad riding. We have to think forward to what our Residents and Neighbors want.
