A certain female minority C/O Investigator -who just happens to be assigned to Internal Affairs was arrested by NYSP for DWI.

Breathalyzer was .27 boys and girls- yes over three times the legal limit.

This is a real shame. Lets face it, on any given night this could happen to anyone who has had a few beers at dinner with your spouse. Some of us have problems with drinking, but again this could be anyone. Lets not get crazy over this until the real story breaks and we can all see the truth of what occured. If in fact she was drunk and hit a parked car, she should pay a fine, her debt. and be allowed to move on.

If you dont know Vin Demarco then you shouldn't assume anything, especially where he stands on different issues etc. I know the guy since he came on the job. The fact that he became Union President so early in his career indicates the amount of trust the people who work with him have for him. I understand that Corrections Officers will be hesitant to support him, and I don't blame you. BUT - do you really think the current guy is such a rosy path for you to follow? You must certainly know he is a vindictive punk by now. With what he has done recently I'm sure a lot of CO's are eager to support him. But think about this, we - (the Deps), supported him last election. In less than three years the polish wore off his act and we realized what he was all about - HIM
This guy isnt doing what is good for our Department, or any of us he's doing what is good for him and his band of fools. What will it take for him to get pissed off and throw you guys to the wolves? I am a uniformed employee at the SCSO , I have been here for five Sheriff's terms, four Sheriff's. I mind my own business, I do my job, and this job has given me the ability to provide for my family, provide for both my wife's and my futures. I have only started a new year with a contract in place one time in all those years. The PBA members cant say that, they've been catered to as long as they have existed, and why? Because they stick together, they have a clear message to their members, and they all want one thing - MONEY AND PERKS. We, (Deps and C/o's), have been missing the boat for so many years we should just forget about it.
Every time an election is near we pick one candidate and they pick the other. The candidates USE all of us to do their bidding, they pit us against each other and we allow it. You notice I am going to great lenghts so as not to tell you which job I am on - purposely done. I wish for once we could simply agree that we would pick a candidate together, and that we would establish a fund - together that would allow for ALL donations these guys would see from us. But the only way to do that is if we combine our unions as one. It would take an extremely strong man or woman to pull this off and one who could be trusted by all of us - but who and how do we do it? Until we join the unions, stop allowing them to pit us against each other - we are destined to sit back and accept the scraps that they are offering to the few who sell their souls to get ahead. Its no puzzle how Investigators are picked. Its no puzzle how bosses get made. Why are we allowing them to continue to push agendas that serve them. Remeber what I said earlier - I have been here for five terms. I am still here, they are all gone - except Tisch who is here now and could be gone as of January. The point is this is my lifelong career, for them it is either a political stepping stone or a politicians place to hide for a few more years or to build a larger pension. Enough already. Somebody stand up and start the conversations that need to take place and lets merge the unions, we dont necessarily have to merge the jobs, just the unions.

Merge Unions? There is no need for that, you would still have favoritism. The c/o union can't even straighten out our mess, you have the union giving the warden power for lt. and sgt. work groups please, what a huge mistake it took whatever moral they use to have. now you have sgts and lts out front steeping on each other trying to come up with new ideas so they can get an atta boy. the lts are just a bunch of asskissers, they are not given the job by senority but who the warden thinks will come up with some kind of ideas that are a waste of time not one lt was made lately that wasn't an asskisser sometimes they might throw a sgt in the group by senority but they don't last long. And don't even mention the SCPD, you have no idea how they work they don't stick together they would love to have a senority clause, there is no such thing in the PD all jobs are given after interviews and hooks, so don't even throw them in the mix.
