View Full Version : Petition Problems In North Hempstead
Not Joe's Show

Some candidates in North Hempstead may have problems. Joe had to send a letter to all his committeemen asking them to hit the streets. However, some are so angry at the treatment of Rocco they are only walking his petition. If NH is having problems I wonder how the rest of the county is fairing.
All BOE employees should expect to be walking soon to make up the loss of signitures because of Jays great plan to force committeemen to choose between carrying Rocco and/or Cyndi's or the rest of the Democratic candidates. Many have choosen to leave the county's petitions behind. I love it when a dumb plan falls apart.

North Hempstead does petition drives every year. North Hempstead assesses how many signatures each zone leader has obtained at the midway point every year. Joe's letter was just business as usual. Sorry folks. No story here.

It's the county committee that caused the problems. One and a half weeks late with petitions that are due back one week early. No wonder the totals will be small, though don't doubt that they'll have enough for everybody.

The county committee needs committee people more than the committee people need the county committee.
Each of you should walk the petition of the candidates YOU support. You can cross off the name of any candidate you do not support, so long as you do so BEFORE that petition is presented for signature.
You do not have to screw over down ticket candidates just becasue you do not want to carry for Rice or Ferrel!!!
You cross off Rice and Ferrel (and anybody else you don't actually support) and carry Rocco and Cindy along with the "corrected" county petition. You can walk your conscience and still help the rest of the Dem ticket.
You don't have to choose between being a loyal democrat and your conscience. You can have both.

If the other candidates in North Hempstead allowed the party to use them as pawns to prevent Rocco from obtaining signitures then they deserve having those who support Rocco to leave their petitions behind. Why should anyone put thmeselves for a bunch of self-centered sycophants.

I don't think anybody consulted them. NCDC just went ahead and printed the omnibus petition. I don't think they they actually got a vote. No pun intended

the important thing is that people should be out there making sure that the candidates they support get on the ballot :!: :!: :!:
So if you support Rocco or Cindy--or both-
WALK FOR THEM :!: :!: :!:
and call them to tell them you are doing so.

Word went out before the peitions were circulated that you can't carry Rocco's with the ominbus petition.. Last year when two zone leaders objected to carrying petitions with Sidikman's name HQ accomadated them. An outcry from the NH slate would have recieved the same result. Except they decided to allow NH to play games with their petitions.
Then they took it a step further and made town employees fear for their jobs if they walk for Rocco. Its sad when a town officals can be bullied by the CE and party chair.

The point is you don't have to choose between walking the preprinted county petition with names of candidates you don't support and walking the Rocco or Cidy petitions. You can simply cross out the name(s) and addresses and office of any candidate you do NOT support and then carry the corrected petition along with the Cindy and/ or Rocco petition and all is well. Just make sure you correct the county petition BEFORE presenting it to any voter for signature!
