They don't check anyone's references and they don't check resumes and they don't even check claims -

The people who are hiring and approving the hires have no idea what the job they are hiring for entails - they pick friends they want to give jobs too - and let them do whatever they want after they're hired.

Some of them do nothing and some of them work - but they create their own projects and job descriptions.

This administration has completely bypassed the entire civil service body of law, and ignored their own County laws - I couldn't believe it when Klein claimed not to know the County jobs have Nassau County residency requirements.

Everyone knows that.

NYC jobs have NYC residency requirements yet all their residents are coming into Nassau.

They don't care about stealing the taxpayers money.

We aren't talking about a 15 minute break here - park workers have physical jobs and deserve breaks - especially in 90 degree heat - we're talking about part timers making $65,000 a year without having one accomplishment to show for it - and without being able to show any particularly special skill or ability which would preclude that job having gone to a Nassau County taxpayer.

And it's alot more than 2 people - look at the technology people Suozzi uses and over at the County Attorney's office. Look at the highest levels of his adminsrative staff. Look at Klein himself.

Would it really be in the best interest of the County and county taxpayers to have background checks performed on every seasonal?? The last time I checked, flowers and plants do not contain confidential information that could be used against the County. ("It says here on this geranium that Suozzi makes $120K a year") They aren't working with children or seniors so under no sane reason would you ever need to run a background check on a seasonal. Talk about a waste of taxpayer money.

Additionally, a background check would never have picked up the fact that the seasonal was a member of Farrakhan's group. A background check usually only looks at criminal history, credit history, and whether or not there is a valid driver's license. So let's stop this ridiculous notion that ONLY IF A BACKGROUND CHECK HAD BEEN DONE would justice have been served.

Know what you are talking about before you make such indefensible assertions.

First you need to remove the white sheet from your head. Did this individual incorporate his personal beliefs into his job and did it in any way affect the park employees? Not only are you a racist but you also want to take away people's personal rights to believe in whatever theories, religions, etc. they choose. People that run with the nation of islam live the nation of islam. OF COURSE he brought it with him into the workplace. It's his life - his belief system - it probably affected every person he came into contact with. And yes pal - you damn well better believe someone applying for a government job had better go through a background check. How would you like some $12 an hour seasonal park worker planting a few bombs under ground in the children's park and later having his accomplices call in a blackmail scheme? Think that's far fetched? So was hijacking a bunch of planes, flying them into buildings, knocking down the world trade center and putting downtown Manhattan out of commission. Tom Suozzi and his skyscraper planners are just too stupid to be running a County. They are dangerous to us.
