Thats the story.
Steve has to wait, JV is running for Re-Election again. He was told last October that he has to run again.
The good news for Steve is that Chris Coschigano is slated to take Marcellino's NYS Senate Seat. Carl allegedly wants to retire.
Steve has too wait another couple of years, JV is tired!!!!!

Venditto keeps winning in Oyster Bay but he's tired and bored with the Supervisor's Job. He's waiting for his Judgeship and for his Son to move up. Steve's numbers keep getting better every election. He got 85% of the vote 14 months ago, the Voters like him. He has strong support with Business Leaders and Unions. Steve's Star has risen and Mondello and everyone who counts likes him.
John runs for Supervisor and wins. Next year they will poll DA Rice if her numbers are weak and Mangano turns the County around he may decide to challenge her. DA has always been his dream job. If not, he'll take any Judgeship available.
Steve just has to keep a low profile, all the other contenders for the Supervisor's Seat will be attacking him, behind his back of course. Especially Genova, he hates Steve. He thinks being rich and the Deputy Supervisor makes him next inline to become Supervisor.

Venditto is no spring chicken. Isn't it time to find out who the successor is?

Support Lenny Genova in 2013.
Genova couldn't get enough support from the Executive Committee to become a Councilman, Pinto got the seat. They will never run a untested Official for Town Supervisor. Too many quality Elected Officials who the Votes love are available, and they all want the job.
That's why Genova took the Town Attorney's Position. He wanted a fall back position so when a new Supervisor takes over he'll still have a prominent position in Town Government.
The Chairman has been quoted in the past as saying,"Only Town wide Elected Officials would be considered for the Supervisors Office!

Venditto probably runs in 2011 but not in 2013. No way he runs for anything else. Word is he has sons who are candidate material so he stays involved for that. If he does run in 2011 the Dems should cross him to get their voters back on the Dem line and aim for the open race in 2013. As for a successor it's none of the above. Coshigano or Genova maybe but doubtful. None of the others even translate to Supervisor. If the Dems play their cards right then 2013 could at least be competitive.

What egos! If you read this thread it sounds like the voters are in love with the wannabee supervisors and can't wait to go out and vote for them. Calm down. The voters don't even know who you clowns are.

There is strong concerns in Headquaters about Mangano's re-election in 2013. If his polling numbers are low, both Murray and Venditto will be pushed to run again for re-election. Hq is worried that a Bruce Bent revolt could happen again.
Established vote getting Supervisor's will help maintain control of the Town Boards in Hempstead and Oyster Bay. The Republican County Legislator's races this year will strongly influence the Big V's ability to finally get the Judgeship he wants.

GENOVA's WITNESSES.

GENOVA's WITNESSES.
1.) The Chairman has stated that only Townwide Elected Officials can be consider for Town Supervisor.
2) x
3.) x
4.) Gen treats people like something he has stepped in. He openly boasts it's "Us (No. Mass & Mass So.) against everyone else". Instead of Republicans against Democrats.
5.) What a joke, is there anyone working for the Town that Genova hasn't sworn to secrecy?
As for JV hating or even disliking Steve x If You've spent time with JV, you'll know that he bad mouths everyone. It's just his style, nothing personal. He's done it since his Councilman days.
JV will not decide who replaces him, the Chairman will. The Chairman will seek advice from the Leaders, Town Chairman, Cairo, Santino, Ippolitto, and whoever else he's close to at the moment. Generally the Chairman doesn't trust wealthy people and Genova is WEALTHY! Because rich people do what they like and cannot be trusted!
JV will be fighting to move his son Michael into an Elected Office. Mike is a great young man, smart, honest, friendly, and hardworking. That is the real future, not Genova! Too many Leaders feel shafted to allow x. Only North Massapequa and Massapequa South Residents are hireable! Leaders Can't get a job in Parks, DPW, or THN.

Newsday has started focusing on TOB and it is not good. The time for a NEW ADMINISTRATION is quickly approaching!
Newsday will continue investigating and reporting on Town of Oyster Bay misconduct! And with so many unhappy TOB Employees writing e-mails to Newsday's Reporters it should be a very busy election season for the Sup and his Crew.
Strong concerns

Strong concerns? Are they kidding? They could poll all they want - they know damn well the people they poll aren't going to the polls. The 30% that do go to the polls have specific reasons for going & Mangano SCREWED HIS PEOPLE. Let me say this again in a way they will understand - MANGANO SCREWED HIS PEOPLE. He permitted that ahole Rob Walker to keep bank rolling holdovers - democrats appointed under Suozzi and brought in from other pension systems - while telling people who campaigned for Ed that there is no money to hire them.
Ed is dead in 2013 and the GOP party should have more than strong concerns over that. They should be looking to get him to step off and trying to find another candidate & if they're smart - they will ask for someone to run from the Conservative Party because after the way the republican foot soldiers got kicked in the head - there is NO WAY they will VOTE republican in 2013. Not them - not their union buddies - not their unemployed former appointee buddies fired by the same people still working for Mangano - not their friends - not their social networks - not their family & not their neighbors. They will make sure of it.

I am so sick of the republican party in nassau county thinking the public owes their kids a living. Kids coming out of school getting jobs nobody else could get - being hired over other highly qualified people and getting huge salaries while learning how to do anything - then they just keep moving up from there while hardly even bothering to do any of the foot work that the other members are expected to do - without getting anything in return except promises of what they might hope to get if only they keep putting out. The mistress never ever gets the husband in this party.
And its really getting sickening. Mangano's people proved it.

What Parent doesn't want to help their children have a better lafe than they have had. If your Son or Daughter wanted to follow in your footsteps and be a Cop, Fireman, Doctor, Carpenter what Parent wouldn't support them.
His Son graduated in the top of his class at Law School. He had offers to work on Wall Street, but turned them down. He wanted to follow in his Dad's footsteps. He turned down 2 - 3 times the money to work for Us.
It's hard being an Elected Official. Giving up your weekends, most evening's. And having limited time with your family.

It comes with the territory, no one is forced to be in the spotlight. Either you're an attention whore or you like serving the public. I put my bets on most politicians on the first one.

Don't you realize that happens in both parties though. No one gets appointed because they're "intelligent," or "qualified," they get the position because they were born with a spoon in their mouth and donated massive amounts of$$$$$.
Unfortunately, that's politics.
