View Full Version : Lets List Suozzi's Failures
He Must Be Stopped

The wisdom :?: of Team Suozzi has done it again, to save money they are closing the Social Services building at 101 County Seat Drive, Mineola and moving the agencies to 60 Charles Lindberg Boulevard, Uniondale. But they do not enough room for the Probation Department at 60 Charles Lindberg, so Probation is staying at 101 County Seat Drive. Which means the county will be paying rent at 60 Charles Lindberg and paying the upkeep of 101 County Set Drive. This is on top of there is not enough room and parking for the agencies that are moving to 60 Charles Lindberg. Smart move Mr. Suozzi; the taxpayer gets screwed again  by your flunkies from New York City with this well thought out plan :x .
More Money

They are going to pay buses and bus drivers and the nassau colliseum so that the workers who are in the field can park in the colliseaum and take buses back and forth to the office all day long. What the clients who are applying for welfare and need to visit their workers are going to do - is anybody's guess.
Maybe Suozzi will move family court into the DSS building. They're already used to rats over there.

What is the CO$T of this move? How much is being spent on the computer connections to Mineola? How many CON$ULTANTS are being paid $$$ to get this done??? How much are they paying for dozens of phone lines at 1550 Franklin where no one has been sitting for almost a year? And the final question, how many months/years will it be before they disconnect the phones at the old building???

Suozzi has subcontracted the computer work to green card carrying aliens from some Aisan country. They are getting OT to the max as not only did they put in new computer at the Social Services building within the past few weeks but they have been hard wiring the future home of DSS. As for who's in charge well that that would be none other then a one Don Rogers. Rogers was a consultant from the late 80's thru early 2000 something when he took over the "systems dept" at DSS. He's a political hack who's greatest achievement was hood-winking nimrods around Mineola into thinking he was the best person for the job. He's more then happy to pass- the- buck at taxpayer expense. His crack staff couldn't find their asses with the lights on.
More then most who work at DSS are not happy about the move. Suozzi and his nimrods feel that the protective barriers that prevent client's from assaulting workers is not needed so no workers will have arm themselves with pepper spray, mace and other assorted legal forms of protection. It was a DSS worker who had his throat slashed by a client that prompted the county to put up the protective barrier for the healthy and safety of the worker. Suozzi and his merry band of nimrods feel that this is no longer needed because it's not his friends and family being put at risk.

Suozzi must think money really does grow on trees. Does anyone have control of IT spending? Is the IT dept capable of doing anything without contractors? What the hell do these wayyyyy overpaid "workers" in IT actually do during their 6 3/4 work day - and lets not forget the breaks.
This is why the County is going to go belly up. It's tough enough to pay their salaries now. No one is going to be able to afford these damn pension and medical payments as all these highly compensated public-service employees retire and move to Florida. Really, has anyone done projections as to where the costs will be in 10, 20 and 30 years from now and how the Nassau County taxpayers are going to support it? Getting a job in the public sector is like winning Lotto!
Todays Snoozeday has an article about to guys from the city that received part time parks department jobs in Nassau. Part time, no show, 65000 dollar a year 'part time' jobs. And Deputy County Executive Cancelleri said that they didn't know about the residency reqiurement for Nassau County employees. He also said that he didn't know about the history of one of the guys because they didn't do a back ground check. Evidently, the guy was a member of Farakahns nation of islam. Mr. Cancelleri should wake up and smell the coffee. Tony, your nose gets bigger by the day with all the lies that you tell. It must be that youre a liar because you can't expect us to believe that you are that stupid.

It is perplexing how Suozzi's administration keeps digging holes for itself that it is constantly trying to climb out of. I don't think there is any planned, malicious intent in any of this but it does cause concern about the lack of proper oversight and control. After some of the trouble Suozzi has had, you would think this would have been cleaned up by now. He may be relying too much on good faith that his staff is being vigilant about things like this.
However, for Republicans to accuse Suozzi of doling out patronage jobs, is a bit like the pot calling the kettle black. Under Gulotta and his predecessors, they turned politcal patronage and no show/high pay jobs into an art form. I know of several people who registered as Republicans because they thought that if they ever wanted to work for the county or town, they didn't want Democrat appearing on their voter registration.
Unfortunately, this seems to be the way politics are conducted in Nassau County.

There's more patronage under this administration than there ever was under Gulotta, and they're paid much more.

You must be dreaming. I can't name one person from Gulotta's administration who wasn't a political hack and who were lucky that Suozzi allowed them to stay and work for him. Actually, Suozzi's administration consists of some of Gulotta's hacks. Now it makes sense why certain things are still screwed up in the County :o

Ha Ha - this is who Suozzi kept ???
The leggy blonde who used to hang out in Gulotta's office then got placed in the CA's office in litigation to take over for D'errico when she ran out and then cried she didn't know what to do or how to handle things - so they had to promote that ice princess (also still there) that D'errico let give out the attorney assignments because she was afraid of trying cases and didn't want to go to court? Then the dynamic duo ran around wrecking havoc until they sent Gallagher over to run it- another Gulotta hack - actually - litigation became the collection bureau for holdovers that had enough political clout that even these Dems (who think they're untouchable) were afraid to fire them. Gallagher was a hospital defender of med mal cases for like 30 years - he's in his 70's maybe right? Now lit does torts and they split the caseload into another whole unit with another whole staff. The holdovers will be gone along with the Suozzi Dems when the GOP take back the County. Bet on it.
Hey - did RF ever figure out what TORT means?
Gross incompetence

If he didn't know than he's grossly incompetent. At his level the first thing he should have done was get familiar with county rules - ready and study, ask and learn - then act. That's suozzi's staff - they are ass backwards. The guy is obviously so terribly incompetent that after working there for years - he "doesn't know" a very basic, very fundamental thing that everyone else knows about staffing county workers? It didn't work for Ken Lay and it shouldn't work for him.
And posting on a website

Just because this is the way it is, does not mean this is the way it has to be. If we had a real DA--one with w/ a track record of investigating and prosecuting public corruption at the highest levels regardless of party affiliation like Cindy Kouril who even though she was a democrat nonetheless investigated allegations that the Mayor's Talent Bank in NYC had become a patronage mill under a dem. mayor--we could the expect that those in power would not feel so free to treat the public purse as their one for discretionary spending.
People who engage in this kind of "politics as usual" should expect to be prosecuted as usual
