View Full Version : Steve Levy gives free advertising to Bill Cunningham

I understand why Bill Cunningham has attack ads about Levy.
Everybody knows Steve Levy--at least the name. Lots of people love Steve Levy (for wrong or right.)
So, of course Cunningham has to peel away some support and compare and contrast.
But, I don't get the latest mailed-to-Dems Steve Levy ads attacking Bill Cunningham and using his ad and photo. Maybe it was just a macho-revenge thing to give the same back.
But, it was dumb.
Many people do not know Cunningham. Levy would do best to ignore him. Or, at least, casually mention him and contrast. But, do spend all that money to circulate a photo of an opponent no one knows.
I am real curious about the primary. I wonder if Steve Levy can still win with the mistakes he has made.
Twill be interesting.

Just goes to show that Levy has poor judgment and Cunningham will triumph.

Cunningham's mail is really good and I have gotten nothing from Levy. No one out east where I live has gotten anything.

Levy began attacking Cunningham long before Cunningham even began campaigning. Its one thing to be biased, just don't lie!

Cunningham's mailings are much better and more professional ... but I'd tell him: Too much, too early.
He's getting predictable and boring and by primary day zzzzzzzzzzzzz...
He also needs to get out more -- I haven't been within 50 miles of the guy, and I'm everywhere.

I live out on the north fork and have received mail from both guys. The Levy mail I received today that went negative on Cunningham was not good, quite honestly. Under "Suffolk County Experience", Levy boasts he's represented Suffolk County for 18 years. Is he sure he wants to say he's been around politics that long? What difference has he actually made?
The truth is Levy is bringing attention to Cunningham. But it may be backfiring. In the same mailing, they say Cunningham is not enrolled in the "Suffolk Democratic Party". What the heck does that mean!? I'm a registered Democrat in New York State, can somebody tell me where I need to go to register for the county party??
The more I hear from Levy, the more applealing Cunningham looks to this voter.

from everything i know, levy's mailings are chock full of lies and distortions. he is running away from his record. a lot of people do that in campaigns but it is hard to do when you keep telling voters that you have been in suffolk county politics for 20 years. people are wondering why he is changing his stripes so fast. i think he is scared of cunningham and losing ground every day.
