the 911 operators and the scpd officers who responded to ocean beach area to look for that female caller are NOT to blame because she ended up dead....as her loving family is implying.....the caller had actually made her way to a house...where the homeowner let her in....he called 911 and gave her EXACT location.....and she took off!!!!!!!! she was in a house....SAFE.....if she had stayed there and waited for the police.....she would be alive today!!!!!! this low life family is going to sue the police dept and get....god knows how much....and benefit quite nicely.....pretty nice since they didnt seem to give a rats ass about her before that.....they should take a good look at themselves and wonder why she ended up like this......

If they were so good, why did it take 30 mins. to respond to an address they "Knew" where they were going? Now it is "her" SAD SAD SAD SAD . Would you be talking like this is she was your mom or sister. By the way the "benefit" they will get is the girl is dead!

You said it " EXACT" location , so why 30 mins to get there ? How can you blame her and/or her family? You are a "low life" and sick. RIP !! By the way, look at the SC Leg. site and the meeting where the PBA fought to keep this a SCMB post and not a 1st Pct. Then wonder why it took 30 mins to get there . Get all of the facts, before you open your sick mouth.

Then dump them next year! Send Jack back to school and Kate back to the bus. This is not the cops, it was the 911 dispatcher. Then dump the PC who is looking for "Jack"

Yes, I did it. I am the 'Cereal Killer'. I had help from Snap,Crackle and Pop, and Capt. Crunch drove the car down Ocean Parkway.
Toucan Sam was at the Robert Moses exit ramp, and Sonny the Cocoa Puff bird was at the Jones Beach water tower scouting for the po-po while we killed them and dumped the bodies.
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE SCPD, stop us 'Cereal Killers' before we strike again.
Word has it that the Trix Rabbit and Lucky the Leprechaun from Lucky Charms want to see what it is like being sadistic killers.
I might need a big Ford van to carry them all. They're Grrrrrrrrreat!!!!!!

OMG, that was funny !!
Yeah, what's up with those "Cereal" killers anyway? Did the cops look into Count Chocula and Frankenberry? Those two are prime suspects in my book.

If you know anything about the distance involved and the lay out of sector cars, then you would know your not going to do much better than 30 minutes.

The 911 system is a joke, they are so over burdened that when you call you get put on hold. I find it entertaining that you get faster response from private alarm dispatch companies (EXAMPLE Honeywell Wells Fargo) then you do the SCPD 911 system. Maybe it is time to go to them to learn or privatize it. I can hear it now come on BITCH AWAY

Some departments don't even go to alarms anymore. They're all false and stupid. False alarms are also a waste to the PD and violators should be charged for wasting gasoline and time.
SCPD can get 1,000 false alarms a day, but there's always a weenie that says what took so long for responce. Maybe the alarm company salesman promised you the world, but the PD never assured you it's a priority call. I've seen alarms held 8 hours. It's not going to get better.

I believe there is a charge to a business for excess false alarms

Not in Suffolk County. There's no alarm permit, registration, or false alarm fee either. Constant and frequent alarms get placed on a "Do not respond list", but that rarely happens.
ADT Security's HQ is on Republic Rd., in Melville. They're corporate office was on the don't respond list for over a year. Ironic!

You say the system is overburdened and you get put on hold. Then you say privatize it. But if the issue as you say is it's overburdened would adding 911 operators help? Or, their just lazy and stupid civil servants?

The reason you are on hold is because Honeywell, Wells Fargo, ADT, etc... are clogging up the system with false alarms that they call into 911 for the police to go check on.
Alarm companies are a huge taxpayer funded scam.

If there is an emergency call 911. Depending on the severity of the problem will determine how long the response time.
The more severe, the quicker the response.
