the 911 operators and the scpd officers who responded to ocean beach area to look for that female caller are NOT to blame because she ended up dead....as her loving family is implying.....the caller had actually made her way to a house...where the homeowner let her in....he called 911 and gave her EXACT location.....and she took off!!!!!!!! she was in a house....SAFE.....if she had stayed there and waited for the police.....she would be alive today!!!!!! this low life family is going to sue the police dept and get....god knows how much....and benefit quite nicely.....pretty nice since they didnt seem to give a rats ass about her before that.....they should take a good look at themselves and wonder why she ended up like this......

I find it entertaining that you get faster response from private alarm dispatch companies (EXAMPLE Honeywell Wells Fargo) then you do the SCPD 911 system. Not in Suffolk County. There's no alarm permit, registration, or false alarm fee either. Constant and frequent alarms get placed on a "Do not respond list", but that rarely happens.

ADT Security's HQ is on Republic Rd., in Melville. They're corporate office was on the don't respond list for over a year. Ironic!

The reason you are on hold is because Honeywell, Wells Fargo, ADT, etc... are clogging up the system with false alarms that they call into 911 for the police to go check on.

Alarm companies are a huge taxpayer funded scam.

If there is an emergency call 911. Depending on the severity of the problem will determine how long the response time.

The more severe, the quicker the response.
