Realistically, what juice does Judy really have? How many jobs does she control? How many careers can you point to and say were made by Judy Jacobs? How many people became judges or elected officials - or even appointed officials for that matter - because they had to "kiss the ring of Judy Jacobs." Maybe a few legislative staffers, many of whom were hired from outside the district. Give me a freaking break for god's sake. Mondello made careers. Suozzi made careers. Weisenberg, Di Napoli and Skelos have influence in Albany. Judy is a den mother who maintains party discipline in the legislature on behalf of Tom Suozzi, then gets kicked in the ass for her loyalty. She's not a true power broker, she's Suozzi's doormat. And it's too bad because at one time she was great, but no more.

Look in her own backyard, and at the "strength" of the TOBAY Democrats in her district. She basically deserted these people. She did nothing to save Sidikman, Langberg or her any of her followers in the Syosset-Plainview area who should have gotten County jobs when Suozzi became County Executive. Jacobs is a woman with a title and a safe legislative district. That is about it. Suozzi wears the pants in that relationship, and Judy has no true independent power base of her own, especially now that she even sacrificed portions of her LD to shore up Dave Mejias, the man who Suozzi wants to be Presiding Officer. Indeed, since she abandoned these voters in the southernmost portions of Plainview Old-Bethpage, she is arguably a sell out. And that's a terrible way to enter the twilight of any career.
