Mejias is part of Suozzi's "Amen Corner;" Whatever Tommy Boy says its Dave's job to cry "AMEN" and hurry it to completion. The voters in Mejias' LD should know that he doesnt represent THEM; Dave represents the only sure County legislative vote Suozzi carries around in his suitpocket every day. Mejias will win in 2005, because of the redistricting of 2003; a lot of Judy Jacob's democrats were moved into Mejias' LD and a lot of the republicans were moved into Schmidts LD from the old Pontillo district. The only way you beat him is to totally maximize the Farmingdale GOP vote. But as long as that executive area stays lazy--you'll never beat Mejias. Forget taking this seat--Scannell is the weak link of the Democratic Majority and why Mondello doesn't defeat him at the polls or lure him to the GOP, is a mystery to me!
